Colic. When does it end?

I'm going mad and have started crying whenever she does!

Oh no poor you (and your dd) Flowers

How old is dd? I've heard things start to improve around 12 weeks as the digestive system matures.

Have you tried infacol/gripewater/colief? I realise you probably have but you don't say.

Do you have any support so you can have a break for an hour? Partner, mum, friend?

Does motion help? E.g. pram or car?

Are you able to go to your children's centre/local mum&baby group (your health visitor should know what's on) at least you'll be out of the house and have other parents to talk to. No one will mind if your dd screams while you're there.

I hope things start to improve soon xx

Thanks Pumpkin - I appreciate it!

DD is 7 weeks and today was particularly bad - felt really weepy and helpless as I couldn't relieve her pain. I feel like I've tried everything - Infacol, gripe water, baby massage. We're trying probiotic drops next and if that fails Colief (because it's so expensive).

She does sleep when she's out in the pram so I took her out for a walk this afternoon. The instant I got back to the house it was back to full-on screaming.

Cannot wait till the 12 week mark rolls around, but when I think that it's pretty much as long as she's been in this world again (feels like such a long time now) it seems a lifetime away.

I know it's a common problem and that it does pass but really at the end of my tether.

DS was the same. It was awful. Awful.

I tried Colief, didnt do a thing. Keeping him upright for
a while after feeding helped a little.

Constant nursing and a sling (but he only liked the Bjorn) got me through the first 13 weeks then things slowly improved.

Also when I had cycled through everything possible that could be wrong, I would put him in the sling, stick headphones in so I didnt go insane and dance around the house. Not really fast obviously Grin

Yep, I can totally relate as DS has been a nightmare at times. He was 12 weeks yesterday so I await the promised improvement but am not holding my breath!

I empathise. Ours improved around 4 months. Sad
