Sweaty 5 Month Old

This might be a bit precious first born but...

My 5 month old seems to get sweaty fairly often. A few times it has happened in his car seat - I mean like soaked, there was a round wet patch where his head had been. I know I am not over dressing him as he rarely wears more than a vest and a sleep suit since it has been above freezing outside - but often less (either no vest or just a vest & joggers or a all-in-one w/no feet, etc). I have a groegg thing in the house & lately it has been reliably between 19 & 21 degrees.

He also tends to get really sweaty when I am nursing him. His whole head feels warm but where his head is resting on my arm always gets so sweaty! I tend to be a bit clammy myself but I just want to check it is normal and not an indication that something might be wrong.

Over the weekend I was carrying him in a sling (oscha 100% cotton) & he was wearing a short sleeve/shorts all in one suit and he was so sweaty. It wasn't even hot!

The past few times we've been on longer car journeys I try to make sure that air is flowing in the back seat but it is tricky as most cars don't even have vents! I've also dressed him even lighter (just a vest or a t-shirt) and finished dressing when arrived.

If this is normal - any advice on how I can keep him comfortable. Is he just a hot baby?(

18 month old DS has always been a sweaty baby, but usually only his head and when he is sleeping. Whenever I breastfeed him or when he is asleep on me his hair ends up plastered to his head and where he has been resting is soaked.

I know I'm generally warm so unsurprising that DS gets warm when he is snuggled up next to me. I guess some babies are sweatier than others, like adults Smile As long as your baby seems fine otherwise and doesn't have a temperature and is hydrated, I'm sure it's all good!

Thanks comeawaywithme! I'm sure it is all fine - he doesn't seem bothered.

Ds has a sweaty head whilst sleeping / feeding too... He always leaves a patch behind. I hadn't thought of it as a problem as such, though I do think it reminds me of the need for baby baths! I check his body temp and bizarrely he's often different temps in different parts (eg soles of feet often toasty when legs are cool). Guess they're just all different x
