ecofriendly night nappy for potty-trained child

DD is well on the way to being dry (if not clean!) in the day. I am thrilled to finally not be adding mountains of nappies to the waste sites (I had planned on being ecofriendly but parenthood took me by surprise and I was swayed by evil Huggies/Pampers). I have started to use Nature boy and girl nappies so that's a start, but I am wondering if it is worth buying three or four cloth nappies for nighttime use and which ones would you recommend? Will they cope with heavyish nighttime wetting? DD is used to cloth nappies from nursery so wouldn't be too bothered I think. It would be great if they could be used by a younger child as well - if I ever get round to having another child I plan on being more ecofriendly in the nappy area!

tots bots size 2 nippas can be used for children of different ages - they can be used from birth - and are good for night time wetting; you'd need a nappy and a wrap

if you're looking for a pull-up type pant then minki yoyos would be the answer imo but they'll only fit the child they're bought for

they're stuffable so you can adjust the stuffing to cope with the wetting or take it down as she gets more confident

thanks for that. Have ordered a normal minki and a fuzzibunz from babykind. Will see how we get on!

You only need one or two nightpants as they never poo in them once pottytrained so can be washed at 40degrees. You can just stick it in with the clothes you're washing everyday.
I'd go for the pull-up style (Fuzzibunz pull up too) so you can officially call them pants.

just a word of caution re yo-yo's. tilly's are fine until she wees in the night and then they leak!! they do work as a deterrent IYSWIM in that she doesn't like weeing in them. i would recommend them for when she's a bit nearer to going dry and get a 'proper' nappy for now...
also invest in a 'wee blanket' from hippychick to save your mattress, you only need the small size as it doesn't need to cover the whole bed.

ooh yes hippychick protective sheet - another vote for those!

I beg to differ - my twins (3.5) have been using the loo in the day time for months but until the last few weeks frequently did poos in their nappies at night or first thing in the morning. That is the main reason I have not yet gone back to cloth nappies at night (gave up because they were sodden every morning - bedding as well).
