I have got my fleece wraps today, ds looks very cute.
I have them over a one life nappy, but looks a little bit bulky. Would i be able to use something like bambino mio (or anything that you fold like that) under them?

It depends if it is snug enough to hold it in place - my fleece wraps are always fairly loose, so it wouldn't work for me.

littlepiggie · 26/08/2006 14:01

He is quite chubby, no hes a porker, so no not loose, just snug.

Oooo - do let me know how you get on with them as I've been wanting to get some too. At the moment, I only have LittleLambs PUL covers but the fleece ones look so soft. ~Have only been able to find them in really bright colours though - do you know anywhere where I can get white (I do LOVE white nappies!) or pale blue ones?

Have no idea, only just started using cloth nappies, so am makeing it up as i go along. Have you googled cloth nappies to see what that throws up?

PadmeP · 26/08/2006 15:13

OH yes - spent hours online looking at nappies, so much so it's making my head spin. Totally new to this too - my bump hasn't even been born yet! Just been ordering a few sample nappies (well, getting a bit carried away actually) and thought I would give them all a try. Only got one type of cover though, which is why I was interested to find out how other mum's find other wraps etc.

littlepiggie · 26/08/2006 15:22

i got some one life nappies before ds was dork, but found they leaked, and could not fit anything over them (birth to potty), but got them out again last week to give them another go not that he is older, no problems now but only had silly plastic pants while i made my mine up.
Wil probebly get one or two of the air flow wraps but i love fleece already, not at all sweaty so will prob stick to them for the min.
my only thing with cloth is the bulk, so i am going to try somthing like bambino mio nappies with tots bots wraps and see how that is.

OP posts:
littlepiggie · 26/08/2006 15:25

that should say when ds was born.
And he is 4 months now all those nappies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is hard work with a wiggle baby that keeps hitting the keys.

OP posts:
PadmeP · 26/08/2006 15:36

love the idea of you there with a wriggly baby - give him a cuddle from me!

Had heard that birth to potty pants often don't work on newborns so that's why I decided to go for the sized options. Apart from the LittleLambs (which seem to be identical to toweling TotsBots), I've got a Fluffle, Bamboozle (which feels lovely and much slimmer), and a bamboo Babeco; and then a few stuffables/pocket nappies (Swaddlebees, Wonderoo, NatureBabies). Feel like I've got nappies coming out of my ears now but still get tempted when I read about another make. Worried I may have the same problem as you and find they don't work with my little one when he's born and that I have to resort to disposables until he's grown a bit (or even worse - discover that none of them work ever! - ahhh!!)

littlepiggie · 26/08/2006 15:46

They do work i promise.
They are soooooooooo cute, he is a good size so i wish i had tried again while he was younger, and showed his bum of in the summer, well when it was warm.
I think i will try fluffles at night they look all soft and squishy.
tots bots sell seconds if you phone them direct, they are £5.25 instead of £7.50 for wraps.

where areall the nappy mad lot when i want you?

OP posts:
PadmeP · 26/08/2006 16:40

That's really helpful littlepiggie - I'll give it a go. Have you ordered seconds before? How - second - are they? I mean, they do still work properly don't they?

Don't think I'll get the chance to show off new babies nappies off in public till next summer now, which is a pity. Do you find it difficult to find regular sized clothes to fit over your nappies or do you use a size bigger (i.e. 3-6 months when your baby was still between 0 - 3)?

littlepiggie · 26/08/2006 16:58

first time i have had him in them, only started on monday, still fits in cloths, just a bit padded thats all.
The wraps i have for ds are seconds, you would not know the difference, i am going to get some fluffles as seconds if they do them.

I like fluffles for during the day but I've never been confident that they are absorbent enough for use overnight. I prefer the tots bot with a booster.

bobsmum · 26/08/2006 21:10

Littlepiggie - if you'fe finding the cotton Tots bulky (and they are) try a Bamboozle. OR have you had a look at the Ella's House site? They do lovely hemp nappies which are mega absorbant but bizarrely very very slim. I have a velcro one which is fab, but it always hides at the bottom of the nappy pile - I have to fish it out when I remember!! V V well made. But slow drying because they're so absorbant.

Ella's House

I haven't got a Bumhugger, but a lot of people swear by them for nights.

bobsmum · 26/08/2006 21:11

I got some Fluffle seconds for a fiver at the Baby Show in Glasgow and I can't see the faults tbh! Fluffles aren't my favourite nappy though - I find poo stains hard to shift.

vnmum · 26/08/2006 21:44

hi bobsmum [waves].

i have fluffles and i too find poo stains hard to shift. i use bamboozles at night and mixture of fluffles and rainbow bots during the day.

i got my tots fleece wrap today too and am trying it for the first time tonight. it is a very snug fit over the tots nappies but i presume its meant to be.

bobsmum - if you're still around, ive got another thread in health about nappy rash, could you give me your advise.

sorry for the hijack

bobsmum · 26/08/2006 23:09

The fleece wrap is nice and snug - it sits right against the nappy and letsthe moisture evaporate away.

Dd's wearing her Red fleece wrap tonight - she looks like a Teletubby, but her nappy is always so much drier in the morning and she's always nice and cool.

MrsWaggsnapps · 27/08/2006 07:16

I can't find a white fleece wrap, but Nature Babies and Minki both do a cream fleece wrap

loopylou49 · 27/08/2006 11:52

Hi PadmeP-I have been spending hours online too looking at nappies- I have 11 month old and another due November. I have decided to go for the Motherease one size and have bought second hand size 0 sandys, kissaluvs, tots bots 1, diddy diAPERS AND THE APPROPRIATE WRAPS (FLEECE, AIRFLOW, rikki). I bought 15 second hand nappies and 8 wraps for about £75. Go to nappy lady and have a look. They will do me a couple of months or so until newborn fits snugly - and then I will just re-sell the lot. Alternatively- instead of buying lots of different nappies before baby due, why don't you hire a newborn trial pack - try the nappies out and then buy what you like. Just an idea!!
Littlepiggie- find MEO soooo not bulky on daughter- have trialed tots bots, bamboozle, stuffables, just about every pocket nappy available, sandys, and lots more, and have decided MEO great as not bulky and great containment. Have to boost at night but you do with all nappies.

littlepiggie · 27/08/2006 14:27

Have often do the fleece wraps need to be washed? (if not pooy)

OP posts:
PadmeP · 27/08/2006 17:21

Hi all, sorry I havne't been around today - came online at 5.30 am but for some reason there was no - Add a Message - box - very odd.
Anyway, thanks for the advice Loopy, too late though - I've already bourght a fair few sample nappies - opps!! Would be interested to know how you get on with the Kissaluvs though, as they're on my wish list. Heard their very good for newborns with a fold down bit for the ambilical but as my waters broke this morning (hence the early rise!), I think it might be a bit late!
Thanks MrsWaggsnapps too - I'll check out the cream fleecy wraps, nearly as good as white!

littlepiggie · 27/08/2006 17:48

Good luck PadmeP, do you know what you are boing to have?

OP posts:
littlepiggie · 28/08/2006 19:34
