Here .

I'm looking for a keyboard for my dd's 8th birthday. We're very short of money. ?50 is probably the limit.

It has to play well and sound nice. Something of decent quality. I'm not too bothered about it being multi functional. It's for her to learn on, play on and enjoy.

Any advice?

Hi there
I've got experience of teaching youngsters music and would say that it might be a bit old - as in some of the featured styles would be too old - rhythm blues/rock etc. She wouldn't get the full use out of it. Might be better to see if there is one aimed at children? If she is starting from scratch she might get more out of it if it includes music she is familiar with it - hymns - carols, even nursery rhymes and simple classical tunes re-written for children. I'll have a look and see if I can find something for you.

Thanks webwoman.

She's starting from scratch but she seems to be one of these people who can just pick up an instrument and play. (She did it with violin, various percussion instruments, xylophone etc) so I want it to be something which will hold her interest beyond the initial fun stage.
She'll be happy with nursery rhymes for a day or two while she's learning, then she'll want to branch out.
