hey , this is my first post and am not too quick with acronyms and smileys etc so bear with me , i had got into a great routine with my 3mth old of bath , bottle and bed at 8-8.30 , he has now started to crash out downstairs at 6ish till 9/10pm , i woke him once and bathed him and nevver made that mistake again! , last night i just put him in bed at 8 and he woke at 9 , my partner saw to him so i could watch tv - very rare there i s something i am interested in but as grateful as i was for this i couldnt help getting annoyed later when i saw how slackly he had tucked him in to the midle of his cot not the bottom and he told me he'd forgotten to change his nappy - would you just put him to bed at 6 ? this is difficult cos my partner works shifts and this early evening time sometimes only time they share and i have my period too today an feel really negative

Hi Nothing wrong with going to bed at 6ish.
Mine used to have a nap at 6 then still go to bed at 7.30, but I guess this will not work for you, but maybe let him go to bed at 6, I used to wake dd up at 10.30 for last feed either breast or bottle and she would drink it withoug really waking up. then put her straight back to bed.
Try not to be too hard on hubby about the nappy, position in cot etc, they find it hard and I know they cant do it as good as you!! At least he is willing to help you. As for evening with husband, this is very important. if you want a good book on sleeping routines try the one we are not supposed to mention! or the Baby whisperer by Tracey hogg. My partner used to go for a few days without seeing dd cos he worked late, b ut I think that getting the child to sleep is far more important, he will see baby on weekend. Thats my opinion, but up to you! Good luck

My lo went through that - he started off by going down at 7.30 and then suddenley moved to 6-6.30 and it was suddenley a race to get his bath done etc to get him into bed before he fell asleep. The baby whisperer is very good and suited us. Does babbie have many sleeps during the day? It might be a small nap late afternoon might enable them to go that bit longer before going down at night.

he is not really in any set routine as such , if at home all day i see the pattern that he stays awake for about 90mins and then sleeps for 45mins/1 hour - we go out every afternoon and he sometimes sleeps wonderfully in his pram and other days he will just fight it - he woke up at 9.15 just now , was miserable through a nappy and clothes change - am back to the early days of not having a clue when to bath , if i go woth this fo the moment and bath in morning do you thnk bath and bed could b introduced again later?
