Is it the done thing (taking ill children to parties)...?

My little one has got a streaming cold which followers her being at a party with another LO with an streaming cold (I have also now caught it).
Mum of said LO (in general conversation) was defending taking her out to parties as she's always ill (because she goes to nursery) and that kid's get ill so she doesn't even think of it.

I'm actually rather pissed off - my DD has 4 teeth coming in and this has really hit her (pretty much the worst cold she has ever had at 1.5 years); not to mention I feel rough and if my husband gets it and can't work he doesn't get paid sick leave. I always pull out of groups / classes / parties if DD is unwell. Obviously we have to go out but I do try and limit it and especially when she is going to be in close proximity (LO was putting things in her mouth a the party and then handing them to others)! Am I unusual and unreasonable to think the mum should have been more considerate (and especially not letting her LO put things in her mouth and handing them around)?

I'm usually one for getting on with life when anyone has a cold. But parties, indoor play places, swimming and play dates are exceptions to my rule.
