Struggling to find a changing bag to fit everything I need to be able to cloth nappy properly while out! Have bought two so far both rather expensive but neither seems to hold everything I need, they hold most things but its well crammed in and I have to take everything out to find what I want. Was interested to see whether anyone has managed to find the PERFECT change bag for cloth nappy users??

Lisa

P.S I have the Stokke Changing Bag and a Hop Skip Bag

i have a little company bag. i used to be able to squeeze in 2 tots for dd2, a wrap for dd2, and about 4 terries + wraps for dd3, plus a bag of wet flannels + cream.

now i only have one in cloth.

I have a lovely allerhand one, available from happybags.co.uk
It's the best bag i've ever had

I've got a big cord one from toysrus that holds all my cr*p nicely.

I use a child-size backpack (as in sized to be small enough for chil dto use, not the size of a child!!!). Can wedge in travel changing mat, wipes, liners, 2 or 3 nappies, couple of wraps and spare trousers and top, plus sun hat and sun cream in front pocket.

If I need to take food etc too, I pop that in another bag ( often my capacious handbag)

We use a Skip Hop Duo which is OK but I know what you mean about it being not quite perfect. I had thought about buying the Expo model that they make as this is expandable at the bottom so presumably more room for cloth nappies? Let me know if you find the perfect one as I am getting really fed up of splitting everything into different bags just so that I can take it all along!

now lucy is older and doesn't use so much other stuff, i just need nappies and food when we go out so i find the skip hop one ok, i use tots bots and can fit several in plus a spare wrap. i don't use washable wipes when out though so have a travel pack of nature wipes.

when lucy was a tiny baby and needed several changes of clothes as well as more nappies i used to use my oioi messenger bag, its huge, i could fit everything in there for a day out including my purse, phone etc. i must admit i did switch to nature nappie disposables for a while as i felt like a cart horse wherever we went, but shes back on cloth now.

This is making interesting reading, gonna take me ages to trawl the internet looking at all the different ones, might go and find the Hop Skip Expo. I love my hop skip bag but it needs a bit more room in the middle, by the time you put bits in the inside pockets, the bottom of the bag disappears and there is not much room.

use bambino mio on both mine, dd 19 months and ds 3.5 weeks

used one that came free with my cossato buggy for dd, never had trouble fitting stuff (and i brought everything but the kitchen sink!)

for trips into town or shops now i just bring 2 nappies in a little waterproof bag i got from bambino mio wbsite designed to hold wet nappies and trial size wipes and sudocreme in my handbag. dd only poos in the morning so if her nappy is changed before we leave it lasts til we get home. for longer trips i still use the old changing bag. have no idea what you could possibly need that wouldn't fit?!

Bagpuss30 · 23/08/2006 11:41

Yes! That's my exact problem too!! Vicky, how on earth do you manage to get all that stuff in yours?

I bought a largeish day sack (back pack, approx 25-30l capasity) on the market, cost a tenner. It has three sections, the smallest of which of which has inner pockets so I use that for keys/suncream/tissues etc. The middle size section I have change of clothes for boy, one or two real nappies, small pack of wipes,1 disy, I terry square, waterproof bag for dirties and change mat. The big section at the back has a spare T-shirt for me and what ever else we need that day. Today that was boys hat and jacket, two muslins, 2 bibs, a toy, and once I'd been to town a pack of spagettti and a a packet of biscuits. It wasn;t very full today.
Sound like a lot when I write it down, but its not stupid heavey, I even forgot to put it under the pram at one point to day and walked a mile or so between friends houses wearing it.
Best of all its navy blue and dh doesn't mind wearing it so hes quite happy to take boy off for changes when we are out. while we were on holiday we wore a day sack each and were out all day with boy in folding stroller.
sorry no particular brand to recomend, but don't be afraid to look outside "nappy bags" to find a bag that does whhat you want it to .

vickiyumyum · 24/08/2006 15:18

just used to cram it in basically! the oioi messenger bag is huge though, its actually probably too big for disposable nappy users, its recommended as a good bag for twins.
