Is 18mo too old to change from disposables?

Hi,

I've got 18mo old twins and i've been using disposables on them from the start as i just felt too overwhelmed to consider using reusables!

i'm now thinking it would be doable but am concerned that they wouldn't like the change as it would feel different to wearing reusables. can't really face a battle to change over.

Has anyone done this a such a late stage and how did it go?

TIA

I have been using cloth since my twins were 6 weeks old (now 18 months) and it hasn't been nearly as bad as I though it was going to be. I am going to potty train my girls soon (in the next 6 months) so for us going to cloth now would be a waste of money.

Up to you really, if you are happy to fork out the cost of cloth for two bums then go for it. You could consider pre-loved as this will keep the cost down. I have 45 nappies in total which is plenty for two babies.

Thanks never sleep

in terms of cost i think i would at least break even but prob save as nappies are really expensive here (france). i want to do it really because i'm just finding the wastefulness of disposables awful.

my worry really is that they wouldn't like wearing cloth when they're so used to disposables. i think i'll get a couple and try before forking out.

Just quickly to say that our DS1 had a night nappy till he was over 6 and, when we tried disposables on holiday, he said they were much less comfy than his usual nappies (Terries) because there was a lot of sticky stuff (plastic) touching him and making him hot. HTH Good luck.
