Hi does anyone use the Tommee Tippee perfect prep machine with cow and gate comfort milk and if so what is your experience!

Jenny the title caught my eye, my DC are old now but what on earth is it? Does it make up bottles for you?

Jenny102 · 10/04/2014 09:56

Yes basically you put bottle in the machine it then puts a hot shot of water in the bottle. You add powder and then add the remainder of the water to however many ounces you are preparing. The result a perfect temperature bottle ready in 2 minutes. Best device I have ever bought. Grin

I imagine it'd work great as the principle would be the same for all formula. I remember making comfort up the same as the others.

Jenny102 · 10/04/2014 14:36

Thanks my only concern I that it only gives a small shot of hot water an ounce or so would this be enough to thicken the formula enough and dissolve the powder.

Isn't comfort supposed to be made with cold water anyway?

Why don't you just try it and see? Or have you not bought the tub yet?

Jenny102 · 10/04/2014 14:58

No boiling water to thicken the milk and activate the starches? Haven't bought it yet just wondering other peoples experiences.

I used comfort milk 4 years ago, but I thought all formulas need to hit hot water to kill any bugs?

Anyway hopefully someone with experience will come and tell us either way!

BertieBotts · 10/04/2014 15:28

Yes they definitely do Aeth. But I thought this one was advised differently. I don't know though I'm going off threads so could be wrong!

Berti I think that may be the SMA version of the cow and gate comfort brand that use the cold water. I remember something like that from when I had my first. I will have a look at that one next time in supermarket see which one will be best.

I bf mine but used to work as a nursery nurse, and that machine sounds like a god-send!

Jenny102 · 10/04/2014 18:42

Honestly it is. After having my first and boiling kettle and having to cool it etc. Now it just takes 3 mins. Will recommend to anyone. But if the comfort milk isn't suitable and needs to be made all with boiling or got water. I'll have to go back to the old method. Confused

OK, sorry! :)

ilovepowerhoop · 10/04/2014 19:58

from checking the instructions it sounds like you make it up exactly the same way as other formula milks (boil water, leave to cool for up to 30mins, etc) so I would have thought it would be fine to use the perfect prep machine.

Jenny102 · 10/04/2014 20:47

Berti. No need to apologise. All help is good help but you have given me the idea of the SMA which is fab thanks. Smile
