Hi everyone,
I'm after some advice from other mums (I've looked for a group or board online within this area but to no avail!)
My husband and I have just welcomed our second daughter into the world and our first daughter is 11 months old. We are extremely happy and do far hubby has been off work however he's going back next week and I was wondering if anyone has any tips for juggling life with a newborn and a very busy nearly 1 year old!!? Or anyone know of any groups I could join. Thanks

Check out www.nct.org.uk for local play groups and activities close to you Grin

I have no advice but WOW well done you. Sleepless nights with a 6/7/8 month old whilst 4/5/6 months pregnant sounds positively horrific! You must be a marvellous mummy machine Smile How lovely for them to grow up so close. I'm a little jealous of that!

I don't have your age gap, but I reckon you need to:

Embrace online supermarket shopping
Accept all offers of help
Sleep whenever you can
Get into a routine to help get the basic household stuff done so it doesn't overwhelm you.

Good luck and congrats!

Thanks everyone.. She wasn't planned but not prevented either but I am so happy now. They are going to be so close! This next year is going to be so hard but so rewarding at the same time! I'm my own worst enemy with trying to keep up with the housework though and need to embrace the fact that it will still be there tomorrow!! And the kids come first! Xx

Get a good sling, get a routine going and consider buying in some help even if just to get through the first 3 months.

i had 5 under 5 at one point so i have done the 2 babies in a year thing a couple of times!

The usual advice really, dont worry too much about the housework,d the big things that need to be done,it doesnt take long to chuck a load f washing on and load the dishwasher, run the hoover round and throw some bleach down the loo!everything else can wait!

Get a sling if you dont have one already, and if the 11 month old isnt already napping for a couple of hours in the day see if you can try to find a way to get him to,so you get a rest or just sometime where you can sit with the baby.

I found getting out in the mornings,to toddler groups or park or shops or whatever, was good because it got me out the house, talking to other mums, and they would fall asleep in the pushchair on the way back (this was older ones big nap,i would leave him in there til he woke up)

Try and get to bed at a decent time (i fail at this )and just try to enjoy it!

Miow the cat im the same,my youngest is 3 months now and i also have an 18 month old too,i have a playpen(which i swore i would never use but now i find so handy) in the living room, his highchair is in the kitchen, and i ahve a bouncer in the living room for the baby and a mosesbasket in the hall next to the kitchen,so theres always somewhere safe i can keep them where i can hear or see them while im cooking dinner or something.
