BUYING NAPPIES FROM NAPPY LADY CLASSIFIEDS

Have been buying small bits and bobs from nappy lady classifieds. Have seen a stock of sandys xs and small nappies and wraps which I want to buy. The buyer has asked for postal order for £50. I am abit worried about sending someone so much money with no insurance. Anyone had any bad experiences using nappy lady classifieds??

I've sold lots of stuff through the Nappy Lady, but only ever used Paypal. It only takes a few minutes to set up, so would that not be an option?

I did say at the beginning that I could pay by paypal but the seller said that they did not have paypal and that they would like a postal order. What do you think I should do??

I've never had a problem on there, but there is always a first. I tend to only paypal.

I have sold things through both mumsnet and the nappy lady and I always ask for a cheque upfront and then wait for it to clear before sending stuff out

I did this because it was what a lot of nappy lady sellers seemed to do; I've bought a couple of from times from nappy lady sellers and not had any problems

I must admit it does work a lot on trust

Cappuccino · 21/08/2006 10:14

maybe if you are unsure cos it is a lot of money you could ask if you could have the stuff in instalments and then if the first one didn't come you wouldn't have lost as much? you might end up paying more in postage tho'

won't they take a cheque? you have to pay extra for a postal order don't you?

mazzarella · 21/08/2006 12:10

I wouldnt do it, but I have just lost £50 through buying on mumsnet and I paid by paypal which is suppost to be the safest way! But the lady i bought off emptied her paypal account as soon as i paid!
It is all on trust, it upto you. How far away is she could you possibly collect from her and pay cash?

I've bought from nappylady classifieds a few times. Have used paypal and personal cheque an dnever had any problems. But haven't spent more than about £20 each time.

Have got postal order now. The seller reduced the price to £50 to cover cost of postal order. I will try it- like mazarella said- there are no guarantees even with paypal. Will trust this person and will never buy so much again!!Especially if they con me. However, I do have their address- they live too far away to drive- but if there is a problem I suppose I could do something with the address. Have sent the postal order today. Will let you all know if I receive the goods!!

Im sure everything will be fine and you will revieve your goods.
Most people are honest it's just a bad few that spoil things.

good luck
