How do you feed your LOs in public?

6 days to go until my EDD and this is something that has been playing in my mind.

I'm not sure if I have the confidence to BF in public- i'm quite shy and body conscious so I don't think its for me.

How do other people manage? Do you express/use formula? Or do you just suck it up and BF?

I don't mean to cause any controversy here- but i'm just "worried" about it.

I thought I'd feel this way but I'm actually now a little brazen with my boobs! Generally once the baby has latched there is very little to be seen. I like v neck clothing and whip a boob out that way but I know mums who wear floaty tunic type tops and feed DC from under them.

If you do feel concious there is usually somewhere quiet you can find or you can buy giant muslins (easier to keep on than the little standard size ones!) be advised though your LO might not like having their face covered to feed!

Good luck OP.

If you are worried, places like John Lewis have parent rooms with chairs and water coolers where you can feed in private. I thought I'd hate feeding in public but I really don't care now that babe can latch well. No one has said anything yet (babe is 8 1/2 weeks).
Good luck.

you can get what I would describe as peephole nursing bras (mine were Hot Milk) so not your whole boob is exposed. I bought some stretchy vests and would unclip bra, top up, vest down, baby on. I have big boobs and a tiny baby but once the baby is latched on you can't see anything. I've fed all over the place.

It can be hard to begin with, I would have my coat semi-draped over my shoulder as DD fussed with latching on, but once she'd got the knack it was fine.

Some people use those covers but personally I think they draw attention to what you're doing, whereas it just looks like your holding the baby without one.

I agree that the covers draw attention to you. I usually do the vest down/top up method and in 6 months of feeding the only comment I've had is "would you like a glass of water" from a cafe owner. The baby hides your boob very effectively.

Another vest down top up method user here. When I first had DS1 I did use feeding rooms in places like debenhams, mothercare, John Lewis, etc until I got quicker and DS latched on without fussing ( prob only a couple of weeks old).

It does sound pretty tricky until you start doing it!
