After 7 months of terrible feeding, reflux, and trapped wind, my DS was finally diagnosed with a posterior tongue tie yesterday. He's getting a referral to have it snipped as it's preventing him from moving solids round his mouth properly.
Can anyone describe their experiences of having a tt snipped at this age? What was the procedure and how was your baby's feeding afterwards?
DS is currently mixed fed but struggles on both breast and bottle. (He cries - a LOT!) In an ideal world it would be wonderful if he developed a good suckling action as a result of the operation, but I worry that it might be too late for him to change his habits iyswim. If nothing else, I'm hoping that he'll be able to take on more solids. But I'm scared of putting too much hope into the operation's outcome and then being disappointed
. Would love to hear of others' stories. Thanks!
