Just that really. How often have you had to deal with sickness, rashes, viruses, nasty coughs, temperatures, major childhood illness etc over the last 6 months of winter.

Thank you so much in advance for the info - my child is constantly ill but I have no idea what is 'normal' for this age range x

DS2 is 20 months and gets ill every few weeks. He's not in childcare but gets ill from all the things his brother brings home from primary school.

When he was about 10 months old, he caught a cold from DS1 which got worse and worse, we took him to the Dr's and she said it was pneumonia which was very scary.

We went out everyday except for the winter months.

I give my children abidec on most days now, seems to help.

Sotired On mobile right now and can't remember what it's called but if you google "baby biotic powder" I think it's from the Special Health Store - or something like that. It's a bit expensive but a bottle lasts a long time because you just put 1/4 teaspoon in water or milk or whatever. But I know friends have found cheaper stuff elsewhere.

My girls are almost 18 months, since they were born we have had...

  • One baby had a hospital stay (2 days) for reflux at 12 weeks
  • Both of them had a nasty cold at 4 months old
  • Both had a mild cold at 10 months
  • Another hospital stay for one of them (5 days), doctors suspected a virus. She was taken to hospital in an ambulance, had all sorts of tests including a lumbar puncture.

Other than the two hospital stays were have been very lucky that they have been quite healthy, especially considering they were 6 weeks premature and born in winter.
