My 20 month old has weird wart like spots- help

My dd 20 months had a couple of red pimple type spots break out on her lower back on Thursday.

A spot then broke out on her external vagina and in the crease of her top leg where her nappy is.

Today when I have wiped her bum she has white spots/ warts and whenever I change her nappy there seem to be more.

Has anyone else had this/know what it could be. I'm getting myself into a right panic if someone could help please

Poxclin (like a watery mousse) is brilliant when they get to the really hot and itchy stage. Much better than calamine.

bumbumsmummy · 02/03/2014 08:03

Sounds like chicken pox

When their poorly is so not the time for potty training. Especially if their 'bits' are bothering them.

They're!

(What's the matter with me this morning?)

Try to get calamine cream instead of lotion if possible. Easier to apply although it does become a bit of a join the dots exercise!

Thank you will send dp to get some!

Does anyone have any tips on how to get dd to sleep I've had about 8 hours in 3 days

piriton anti-histamine can help with itching and can make them drowsy too - its ok from 1 year

Artandco · 03/03/2014 11:10

Do you have any babygrows still? If not pick some up cheap to wear. Means they can't reach stomach etc to scratch ( bleed and leaves scars), and the lotion will only go on them and if stains can throw after. Get packs of three in tesco etc for few £

HerGraciousMajTheBeardedPotato · 03/03/2014 11:40

Have you tried the baths? Forgot to say, don't rinse her off afterwards.

Piriton at night?

If she's still got a temperature, paracetamol or ibuprofen.

Babygros - very good idea. Also safety-pin socks over her hands if she's scratching. If she won't tolerate this, then do it while she sleeps.

Wannabestepfordwife · 03/03/2014 11:55

She still sleeps in sleep suits anyway- she's like me gets cold feet.

Have done the baths and nurofen but wil get some piriton I can't even make a cup of coffee without knocking the granules everywhere

Oh dear. It can be knackering.

Back to newborn stage - sleep when she sleeps and never mind the tidying up.

IIRC the worst is generally over 5 days after the spots begin. So things should start getting easier soon.

Thanks for this thread Wanna - my 12 month old is 5 days in and really suffering Sad - i have had no sleep for two nights!! Thanks everyone for the advice, going to try the bath thing later Smile
Quick question - one of the blisters looks really nasty- yellow and puss like, rather than drying into a scab...has it got infected? and if so, what to do?

Wannabestepfordwife · 03/03/2014 13:24

You have my sympathy the thecountess! I feel like I'm losing my mind.

My DD had terrible chicken pox at that age... I found virasoothe the best, clean, easy, seemed to really relieve the itching.

Second piriton at night and the baths.

Good luck! Thanks
