Hi all,

Now I'm no longer working I am considering switching to reusable nappies. what are your recomendations for easy to use nappies for very wriggly 16 month olds?
He has a lovely little tumtum but is quite small for his age (22lb).

Any other tips to get me started would be great.

I use MEOs with my 17 month old - she can be very wriggly and I find them easy to do up because of the poppers. I can put them on while she is standing up, which I can't do with disposibles. She's quite petite and they fit her well.

I have some tots fluffles & bamboozles but because they are the nippa versions I'm not finding them as useful when she won't lie still but the fluffles in particular fit very well and applix ones would be fine I'd have thought.

Good luck

Swaddlebees organic cotton velour ones are nice on my 22 lb 13 month old. They are expensive though. Sandys are a cheaper alternative and motherease airflow wraps. All are popper fastening. I would avoid aplix nappies as my ds undoes his quite easily. There have been many mornings when I have gone into his room to find a minki pocket nappy round one of his ankles! oops . HTH

DS is 18 months and I currently use various stuffable pocket nappies -- Fuzzi Bunz, Wonderoos, Nature Babies, Supa Dupas, Banana Babies and Bear Behinds (I think that's all ).

I originally switched to pockets for use at nursery when I went back to work because when prestuffed they are idiot-proof, but they grew on me to such an extent that I've stopped using our Tots Bots entirely even at home (although they were great for newborn bf poo and I plan to use them again for the first 6 months of a hypothetical #2 (no pun intended)).

DS is the king of wriggle but I find these (all popper fastening, he loves to undo velcro/aplix but hasn't got the hang of poppers yet) are reasonably easy to get on him.

Hi,

Swaddlebees Pocket Nappies are brilliant for toddlers. Pre-stuff them and they're like a disposable to put on, they're cut really trim and neat, and they have backwards poppers which to undo them is an un-natural action for a baby so they usually stay put! They can be pulled on and off like pants, and well as poppering like a nappy, so can be used as training pants, or just pulled onto a wriggly toddler with ease.

Not good for very heavy wetters though, and Wham-Bamboo are best in that case, all the way, and for overnight. The size two fits well through to potty training.

I use tots bots bamboozles and think they are great. ds 6months is a wriggler but I still find the nippas the best. I heard that aplix wear out after a while, especially if you don't fasten them while washing, which is what I would do. ds 2yrs wears the same size which avoids confusion and he can't get them off. I would try to avoid buying loads of different ones as sorting the laundry gets to be a bit of a nightmare. IAlso get something your dh can deal with . I also bought tots bots as they are made in scotland
