Would like to read to my dd (age 7) and ds (4) about the possible dangers in the big wide world.
Does anyone have any recommendations of suitable books?

I don't have an answer but this is interesting. How do you alert them to danger without instilling panic?

I have a book called
"come and tell me". As the title suggests it s a story about a little girl who goes off somewhere with her friend, and doesn't tell the mother. It ends with the mother telling the child she must come and tell her when she goes off. Both my DS have had it read to them, its not scary, but gets the message across. i got mine from a company called Ragged Bears.

That sounds great Saltire. I'll definitely check it out.

this is great - by Anne Fine = well-written, but also common-sense approach which gives the opportunity to discuss the issues a bit, without scaring everyone witless.

Just right for your ages Unicorn - they need to have a little understanding of school/nursery to appreciate the plot.

excellent, thanks both, they look (and sound) like just what I'm after.
