Bamboozle - take ages top dry...

With my ds now nearly 5 months and me feeling a bit more on top of things I have started to dip my toe in washables.

I have 2 motherease one size (which I love)
1 tots cotton applix and 1 nippa and 2 tots bamboozles. As I have 6 I should have enough for 1 day washables, 1 day disposables at the moment BUT I'm finding the bamboozles are taking ages to dry- more than a day (Motherease is the quickest followed by the cotton tots)

I thought the bamboozles were meant to be the quickest to dry.

Not really looking for any advice, just having a moan!!

I agree they are very slow drying but I put with that for they are so soft and slim fitting. I've only got 6 nappies too. I'm waiting to try my new wam bamboos before deciding whether to go for those or Bamboozles for day time.

Do you have a tumble drier? I find half an hour in there first, with a dry towel, makes a lot of difference to the overall drying time.

However, I would go for having minimum three/four days supply - then you've got enough to keep you going whilst the others dry (I wash three days worth at a time).

the totsbots fluffle dry really fast, but some people don't like the feel of the material...agree the bamboozle take ultra long to dry.

Laura032004 I know what you mean about having a bigger supply...

I'm having a quite a lot of fun buying individual nappies at the moment, and I'm still to undecided about what I like to take the plunge on a buying a number....

So far been a bit disappointed with Tots Bots so want to try some others. I have a very tall baby (he is 19 weeks but is the size of a 6 mth and with thunder thighs!!)

Are they Tots sz 1's? My DS was in Tots 2 at 5 months, and even had some sz 3's for bedtime

ScotGirl · 06/08/2006 16:09

they are tots size 2. Like the nippa one the best..

wambamboo are better fitting than tots imo.

They do take forever to dry though - the good thing about bamboo is how absorbant it is, but it is also the bad thing about them too!!!

Would try some Fluffles to boost your collection! More or less dry straight out of the machine so you could use whilst the Bamboozles hang around for another day!!

MrsWaggsnapps · 08/08/2006 16:19

you could also try bumbles or harmony nappies (by easy peasy), they are higher in the rise than tots and fleece lined, I found they dried quicker too.

ScotGirl · 08/08/2006 20:30

thanks for the advice.

I have ordered an ellas house and I will look into the bumbles/ harmony.

I've kind of forgiven the bamboozles over the last few days as everyone is right - they are brilliant at absorbing- forgot to change ds - it was on for 4 hours and no leaks, not even close!

Have you tried a fluffle?

They seem great and apparently dry really really quickly.

nibbs · 09/08/2006 13:27

I'd also recommend fluffles - they're unbelievably soft (and stay soft) and dry really quickly (couple of hours). And I've never had a leak either!

The best quick drying ones I've found (which was one of my top concerns not having a tumble dryer and not much space for hanging) are minkis and fuzzi bunz - the nappies themselves dry in about 30 minutes. The inserts take a bit longer - but you can have a few spares, so the turn around time is quick.

If you're trying out different kinds of nappies, then babykind.co.uk is great, as you can order different types, use them (wash them) and return 1 of each type you don't like for a 70% refund.
They do fluffles in popper, aplix and nappi nippa style.
