Can you not pay something towards the repairs?

dmo · 02/08/2006 08:59

i am very willing too
hubby reckons we should give lots of money to them to help repair (£500)
deff no football playing from now on

You to ring someone and tell them. It could be a security risk.

Is it plain stained glass or artwork ?

oh no!

Do you know where the vicar lives? Could you go round (with son) and apologise and find out what you can do to make amends?

Yes they will be insured but policies these days have no claims discounts so it will still cost them in increased premiums. You could offer to pay the increase plus a donation for the inconvenience.

Poor you (and your wallet) though!

window had a picture
its not our church where r/c
the church with the smashed window is a meth church so not sure where preist lives as our preist lives on the church grounds
hubby found a phone number on notice board and phoned to inform them they said they will pass our number on (they were so lovely)
son upset cause he has to cough up rest of his b/day money to me to help with cost

They will be insured, but maybe your son could offer to give some of his time as his apology, perhaps cleaning, sweeping up etc.

Accidents do happen, it wasn't deliberate, and at least your ds - and you - have had the decency to approach the Church and be honest.

Christian forgiveness

dmo, churches often have to deal with so much vandalism that they are bound to be relieved it was just a little kid whose dps had called to apologise. I'd go round personally though and chat to the minister when it's all settled just to be neighbourly and show goodwill.

had a chat quickly this morning saw him boarding window up said sorry again, he was lovely

I really think you should pay for it

Have you looked at your own house insurance to see if that would cover you?

But I am bitter and twisted because I'm speaking as someone who spends hours of their time with a load of half-dead 90-year-olds helping with jumble sales which raise about £80 a time towards the repair of this sort of thing ...
