Just wondering how old people leave their dc patent facing for? Dd is 10 months and I don't want to turn her around anytime soon

I kept DS parent facing for as long as I could bear lugging the pram about. So, um, about 16 months? Now I mostly use a maclaren buggy, but a lot of the time he walks (he's 23 months). I think petite star do an umbrella fold buggy that you can have parent facing. It might be called the bubble. Will have a look...

I do have an umbrella stroller too but rarely use it as it doesn't look comfy and I like to see her!

I think our maclaren is comfy enough for him because that's where he naps Grin can't get him to nap in his cot for love, money or 3 readings of the gruffalo!

Mumof3xx · 01/02/2014 07:36

I can get her to nap in the umbrella

It's a silvercross zest, however it's so much narrower than our m&p zoom she just doesn't look as comfy

She also will not cot nap!

Most babies will be perfectly comfortable in an umbrella-fold. They may look cramped, but will generally easily take a 4 or 5yo (though you're highly unlikely to still be using one at that age!).

Although rear-facing is lovely, there comes a time when the child wants to be forward-facing. They are interested in what is going on around them. Besides, eventually their legs get long enough that they would be kicking you in the shins as you pushed the buggy.

I've got 2 buggies, one that does parent facing and my maclaren. My maclaren is lighter and smaller so we use that when going into cafes/on buses etc, but for round about town and to and from nursery we use our parent-facing one (DS2 is 8 months). I think with DS1 we stopped using the parent-facing setting when he was about 14 months.

We've got the njoy bubble thing. It's brilliant save the rain cover which is total pants.
Dd is over a year old and still rear facing, I'm waiting until she's wanting to be out of it and toddling for parts of journeys before flipping the seat.

my dd is 19 months and still parent faces sometimes but most of the time shes world facing - only switched her round for 1st time about 3 weeks ago. we have a bugaboo bee Grin

MrsOakenshield · 01/02/2014 09:48

around 6 months, she preferred facing out after that. Bugaboo Bee. Used it till she was 3ish, maybe a bit longer. Loved it.

Up to your baby, really.
