My daughter has always been constipated . Heart breaking to see her struggle. She doesn't help herself because any sort of food that is good for her she will not touch. Veg fruit, brown bread. Juice. I never really believed In fussy eaters, my son eats us out of house and home hrs only 3.5. She has lactulous, I use it if she hasn't been for a few days I don't want to depend on it. Raisins figs prunes she won't touch. Shel eat weetabix but it doesn't help really. She doesn't seem to get the fibre intake into her system. I'm at my wits end .
Any ideas ??? I'd rather do it meds free x

What does she eat?
My two (2.2 yo twin) don't much like fruit except bananas, but love fruit smoothies which I make with puréed fruit and milk, sometimes I stick a prune in there too
Assume you've tried hiding veg in sauces?
What about multi-veg muffins? They lo

Sorry pressed post- they look like cake but full of fresh veg!

Yep tried sauces. She eats very very little . Weetabix or shreddies for brekkie. Lunch a yogurt but dairy only bungs them up worse. Sometimes some malt loaf . She used to love grapes now she just launches them across the room. Dinner is very hit and miss . Spaghetti Bol she loves. Other than that I'm struggling. If she could get away with having 4/5 bottles of milk aday she would be quite happy. She used to love melon now she just squishes it into her tray. Seriously she is fussy and stubborn! Shel eat a fish finger. Used to love new potato. I used to make my son veggie packed mash. She hates mash . I'm running out of foods!'

Ha - I know, my DS will not eat any veg unless its hidden, DD has only recently started to eat brocolli and carrots but that's it
Here's the link - DS loves them as cake is his favourite food!

Also I recently bought vegetable fingers instead of fish fingers and they will both eat them

I need some ideas too. My 4yr old had big issues recently and a Dr friend said to give him apple juice which did seem to help (or could have been a coincidence that he rushed to the loo 10mins later!).

Apricots mushed up. Did the trick for my 16 month old xxx

I'd think about talking to your GP about using lactoluse regularly for a bit at least until what she eats can help her out more. Lactose isnt like movecol as it is really just an indigestible sugar which draws more water into the bowel to keep things soft and easier to pass. It's very benign and has few if any implications for the bowel. My DS is on meds which cause constipation and he has lactoluse daily to stop constipation. Long term constipation is much worse for little ones and can lead to fear of pooing and refusal to poo, which is harder to help. Hope this helps put your mind at rest a bit about it, it's hard watching them struggle.

We had v similar. Get Movicol from your doc - seriously. My DS has a tiny tiny dose - quarter sachet every other day and the distress / difficulty around pooing has gone. Nor is it dramatic the other way ... We can now work slowly on encouraging him on fruit / veg etc but know he's comfortable. Much more effective / predictable than lactulose. Good luck!
