Cloth nappies at daycare

Help! Started my son (20 months) at a new daycare today and when I picked him up, they told me that it was against their policy to use cloth nappies, that I had to provide disposables. They said that it was not hygienic to keep them in the wetbag I provided!

I feel like I was misled because when we initially toured the daycare, I asked whether it would be a problem to use cloth and the manager said they did not currently have other children who did, but it should be okay. She did not indicate anything about a policy against using cloth diapers.

Has anyone encountered this sort of policy from a daycare and succeeded in getting them to allow you to use cloth nappies? Can anyone point me towards any resources that might help?

Who told you they wouldn't use cloth, have you tried speaking to the nursery manager who said it was fine?

I'd take it up with the manager.

DD1's nursery coped fine with cloth nappies and wetbags.
