Anyone have advice on which bamboo nappies are the best. Did decide on Bamboozles nippa version but cannot get them now. Are wambamboo just as good? are there any others worth a look at??? Cheers

I like the aplix bamboozles the best (my nippa ones stopped gripping after a while). I also like the clwt twt bamboos cos the outside is terry so no nippa problems. Never tried wambamboo myself but I know flamesparrow thinks they're fab!

How do you get hold of clwt twt bamboos? have not managed it so far

I've made myself known on this subject then?

Wambamboo are great . I was a dedicated tots fan, got involved in a trial for the WBBs and haven't stopped annoying everyone about them since . I love them, and haven't had any problems with nippas - I did find that old nippas work better than the new style, but not a huge difference.

Another vote for wam-bamboo. I've set up links here for various bamboo nappies, my friend got some babaloo (after a long wait) and they are v similar to wam-bamboo, she's v pleased with them.

My bamboozles (aplix) are more like fleece now than terry - the fibres have clumped together alot - not a problem but I can't imagine a nippa working on them.

I would also recommend a bamboo terry square, they are gorgeous, very slim and fast drying and, of course, versatile.

Has anyone tried the Wambamboo ones with velcro? Am a fumble-fingers and know I'll mess up with Nippas, but have a friend who said that velcro on nappies hurt her baby's tummy....different make though. What do you reckon?

chipmonkey · 02/08/2006 21:54

Elibean, I used to think that about nippas but Misdee put me right! They are so easy to use that I PMSL the first time I used one to think that I'd been afraid to use them.

chipmonkey · 02/08/2006 21:55

Does anyone think there could be the same issues with Wambamboo and nippas as there has been with Bamboozles?

I have no idea - I haven't had any problems with either apart from two occasions where its taken me two attempts to get the nippa to grip (that was on bamboozles).

Anchovies - do you air dry or tumble? Wondering if that makes a difference.

I've heard one person say that the velcro wasn't sturdy enough on WBBs, but only one. Believe me though - nippas are sooo easy, and they don't stick to everything in the wash.

kazzadotcom · 03/08/2006 14:57

ta for the help. Has anyone tried the babeco nappies with the fleece on the inside? oh this can be so confusing.

Just noticed this, must be the cheapest wam-bamboos going.

wambamboo

Elibean · 03/08/2006 18:53

Ok, I feel braver now. Will get some trial nappies and nippas and see if I (and dh, if I'm nervous he's terrified ) can POSL at having worried. Thanks.

killarney · 17/08/2006 11:04

Wham-Bamboo nappies don't have the same nappi nippa problem as Bamboozles apparently (I asked!). I got mine from makesachange.co.uk who were very helpful. They also sell additional bamboo boosters which I use overnight.

ellenrose · 17/08/2006 16:19

I have the wambamboos with velcro and so far I have no complaints. Very good and haven't noticed a problem with the strength. Also, no issues with digging into dds tum.

tassis · 17/08/2006 16:23

oooh, a bamboo terry square... now where could I get one of those??

laundrylover · 21/08/2006 22:47

If anyone is still watching this thread could you tell me which bamboo nappies are UK made - I know that Bamboozles and Clwt Twt are but what about WamBams and others with Bam in their name???

MrsWaggsnapps · 22/08/2006 16:46

I think all but Baby Beehinds are UK made (at least the finished product is, the cloth probably isn't made up here).

I know of two co's making squares, Babeco and Nappy Nation. For some reason you can only get 50cm squares on Nappy Nation's own site but both 50 and 60 at Twinkle.

I've got a Babeco one which is lovely and stretchy and have seen the NN one but not tried it (the NN one looks a better finish but a squares a square when alls said and done)

laundrylover · 22/08/2006 22:06

Thanks MrsW. I guess the fabric will be made in Asia but I try to limit my nappy choices by buying British. Otherwise where do you stop your spending spree???

Flamesparrow · 23/08/2006 10:17

Have emailed wambamboos to check, but am 99% sure they are.

Flamesparrow · 23/08/2006 10:53

From Cathy at WBB

"They are manufactured in Portugal so are European made, we did do sampling from UK but quality was awful. The company we use manufactures high quality babywear.

Our boosters are made in UK."

laundrylover · 23/08/2006 16:24

Thanks for that Flame. Will still pass on your recommendations but maybe I won't buy any for myself...now those wacky wraps could be made by child slaves on the moon but I will HAVE to have some!!!

elliet · 23/08/2006 20:51

The wam bamboo nappies from geobel are very good, also the baby beehinds bamboo fleece are excellent one size (birth to potty) and have poppers and are arriving in the UK in the next couple of weeks aparently, they will also have a UK website soon.
