Hi
I need advice/ help with my 10 month old please.
She has always slept through but for the last month has stopped, and her tantrums through the night seem to be getting worse!
She sleeps in the same room as me.
This is her routine
(Apart from waking 5-6 times in the night)
Wakes 7:30-8:00am : bottle (sometimes sleeps again)
Breakfast 10am (weetabix)
Play
Lunch 12 (whole jar with yogurt)
Bottle
Nap until 1:30pm
Play
Snack 3:30pm-4:00pm (fruit pot)
Bottle
Nap until approx 5:30pm
Dinner 7pm (full jar)
Bath 7:30-8:00pm
Dessert 8:30pm
Bed between 9:00-9:30pm

Then up with tantrums and screaming at least 3 times a night
Any help please?

Google 'wonder week 55' - it will set your mind at rest about the sleep and behaviour issues and reassure you to know that it is a phase, and it will pass! One thing I noticed from looking at your routine though, is that you have 2 afternoon naps - neither of mine would have slept at night if they had napped beyond 3pm at the latest. Dd2 is now 15mo and has had one nap a day for months, which used to be from 9.30am for up to 2 hours, but now starts around 11am for the same length of time. Bedtime is at 6.45pm and has been since she was around 7mo. Some babies might need 2 naps a day, but I would try to make one in the morning and one early afternoon, and wake her up if she is sleeping on. She might be getting so tired from an active morning without a nap that she is then exhausted and happy to sleep a long time in the afternoon. But you'll pay for that at night then. Also, you must really want your evenings back! 9-9.30pm is a late bedtime. Hope it improves soon.

My DD is 11mo tomorrow and I agree with mummyxtwo: just one longish nap in the middle of the day or possibly two shorter ones, one AM and one PM. But she gets no sleep after 3pm! DD is more than ready for bed at 6.45pm, but only if we stop her sleeping beyond 3. Not sure I could cope if she was still up at 9pm!

Perhaps try some snacks in between meals .

My instinct is that she's hungry and going to bed too late and is horribly overtired. It may of course not be the problem but at that age our 3 were doing the following:

Wake 6.30/7, milk
8am Breakfast of porridge + fruit or cereal
9.30-10am - snack - rice cake, fresh fruit
11.30-12 - lunch - cheese, cut up veggies, bread and butter or crackers
nap for 2.5 hours
snack / milk on waking
tea at 5am - Bol / shepherds pie / fish etc etc main meal
Milk at bed time (7pm)

I also agree with the no sleep after 3pm...

Agree: at 10mi it would be more typical or your LO to be having one nap in the morning (around 3 hours after waking up) and one nap mid afternoon (around 3 hour after waking up from the morning nap).

At that age, if my DS had a nap late afternoon like yours, he would never go to sleep at bedtime and would probably be up pissing about all night too!

At that age I think our routine was like this:

0630 wake up
0930-1015 morning nap (maybe he would have an hour in a good day)
1330-1430 afternoon nap
1845 bed

Maybe try and encourage your baby to do something more like this - she should be knackered by bedtime then!

I posted something a couple of days ago about my 10 month old, her sleep has also gone haywire!

She usually has one nap in the morning and one in the afternoon and is in bed by 7.30pm. Currently waking once in the night (grrrrr) and then at 6am.
