and I think my ds hates them he's always trying to take the wraps and nappy off, gets the velcro undone and goes around with one side completely undone.
I brought some lovely tots bots and wraps from a few mners here and they all arrived yesterday. I put ds in one straight away . He seems to soak through the nappy quite quickly even though i've folded the flappy bit up at the front to make it more absorbant iyswim. He also seems too big for a size 2 bot. They're not as high as I'd like them front and back.
They seem a bit bulky round the front and between the legs.
Is it me, am I doing something wrong, is there a secret on how they should be worn? I know I should I try and get a bigger size for ds as these 2's will be fine for my new baby in several months. Where do I find bigger sizes from that don't cost the earth? Ebay seem to have lots of big wraps but not nappies .

the nappies will seem soakingh to start with as you have to remember there isnt a stay dry layer or loadsw of nasty chemicals in them.

thenappylady.com has 2nd hand nappies for sale. i do have some size 3's here, but am too ashamed to lend them out as are well worn, and some have holes (they work fine, just very well used IYKWIM).

are the size 2 quite 'hippy' on him? what weigth si he?

burstingbug · 30/07/2006 10:51

very hippy - he's almost 2 stone, so thats 28lbs ish

i'd suggest size 3 tots. dd2 was just over 30lb when we switched to cloth and we used size 3 tots and XL wraps.

ds is 17mths btw so not really ready to potty train just yet and new baby is due in 11 days.

Thanks misdee.
Ok so if anyone has any size 3's that they no longer require, I'm on the hunt for some! Please please please!
Dh might go nuts because I've just brought 1's & 2's, but hey ho, still cheaper in the long run!

i'll check my size 3's as i did buiy 2 newer ones, so they may be ok in condition. i dont think dd2 will make it into size 3's as she is tiny.

burstingbug · 30/07/2006 11:07

Ok, let me know if you want to part with any of them and how much you'd like.

I would suggest wambamboos instead - they are great as a birth to potty - fitting my little one and my 3 year old. Also popper wraps (airflow maybe) would be harder for him to get off - or wool ones are often pull on ones, so again, hard to get off.

burstingbug · 30/07/2006 12:22

I have got 1 or 2 popper wraps which he gives up on trying to undo, he tries to pull them down instead!
I keep hearing people mentioning wambamboo's, not many on the 2nd hand market yet, and I can't afford brand new ones .
I may look for wool patterns as I've heard people on here knit their own, I'll ask fil's partner if she'll knit me some.

TOddle-ease are also good for bigger children, they do from about 25lbs+ and can fit under a Large or XL wrap. They can also be pulled up as they popper at the sides
