thanks for reading.
I have a five month old. we started the bw three hour routine at about 8wks because he was getting really grumpy and overtired culminating in a meltdown at 5pm on the dot! things went really well at first and the meltdowns disappeared . at about 3 months his naps started to shorten to 45 mins and the grumpiness returned. I did p.u.p.d (not on every nap time as begun to wear me down so would cheat and go for a walk with him in a pram) but never managed to extend one nap we would just have another 45 mins of screaming. At the time I noticed that if I let him have his first nap of the day in our bed he would go 1.5hrs and would be happy and smiley after but if he went in his cot it would be 45mins. at the time he was sleeping through.

at 4 months I delayed starting the 4 hr cycle because his naps were still short. he then started waking at night. so we went on the 4hr cycle and for the first 3 nights he slept through but now he's waking up 2 to 3 times a night. we are now bringing him into our bed just to get some sleep. but I think in the long run this is probably not a good idea.
was wondering if anyone had any tips...

thanks in advance Smile

Yep. Bin the book and do what works Grin

No, seriously. I get that's not what you're asking for, but don't overthink it. He will not be in your bed when he is 18. If the baby whisperer routine is working, then great, but if it's not working it's time to go with whatever does. You could try going back to the previous one if you really don't want to have him in bed with you?
