Dh just took our very sleepy, just slightly gassy baby into the bathroom, turned on the main crystal palace style light and flushed the very noisy toilet with him right next to it. It's 2am, and he thought he'd just drop right back off to sleep.......

If it weren't the early hours I'd laugh out loud.

I can't be the only one this kind of thing happens to, come share Smile

DHs have no clue about flushing toilets being noisy I'm sure!

I'm trying to stop feeding my DD to sleep every time she wakes. Last week I'd rocked and sssshhhed for half an hour and she was just dropping off when he came in to our room, into the ensuite, did a noisy man wee and flushed!! Cue wide awake baby!Grin

When dd1 was brand new we were trying to get her into some kind of bedtime routine using quiet, dark room, bf in the dark then put straight down. Obviously as BFing I did this. DH decided to unload the dishwasher in the noisiest way possible - clattering plates, crashing cutlery, etc - cue baby screaming.

When DD was smaller, DP would swan in her dark, quiet room and ask "IS SHE ASLEEP?".

Not now she isn't %%#&$.

DH stubbing his toe on the end of the bed & yelping in pain. At the time he had no sympathy from me as he got to go back to sleep while I was awake for an hour BF him back to sleep!

Hahaha, these are hilarious.

But the thing that really messes with your head is the really loud stuff that DOESN'T wake your baby, like LOUD SMASHING CUPS in Cafe Nero...But then inexplicably, the very quiet turning of a page or a the moving of a duvet immediately awakens your slumbering babe. Completely nonsensical.

I know ^^ it's like they give you the "I can hear you parents, no one else - just you TWO" look, I'm watching and listening all your moves.

DD now 16 mo can happily be in her room in the morning, she'll stay there no noise and we don't know she's awake (to a point obviously) but the minute there is movement in our room, bathroom etc. - she's awake instantly.
