Tots bots Bamboozles - love them! They have never leaked and I use them for my 6 month old and 2.4yr old. Tots bots do fabulous wraps for the nappies, which you will need also.

kissaluvs...LOVE them they are great

Cotton bottoms prefolds (or any prefold actually) I personally HATE them, and even if given them free wouldnt put them on my own baby (as and when i have them).... there are lots more much better nappies that fit better and dont leak so much IMO
(tho the nappy bits are fine to use as boosters etc in otehr nappies)

MotherEase sandys Love them: they are SO soft and absorbant

tots normal nappies (ie not the new babmoo or microfibre ones, (that ive not tried)) great absorbant but a bit bulky. But a very nice functional cute nappy! and good at night

kooshies all in 1 nappy. HATE them... not nearly as absorbant as other nappies and takes ages to dry. Would not buy these and if given them they would be absolute emergancy ONLY nappies!

motherEase one size.... personally ive only used these on a quite young baby (up to 9 months)... they were nice and i did like them... BUT i just cant see how they can be absorbant enough for a toddler... though i know of many people who DO use them and insist that they are fine

All time favourite wrap: Mother Ease Airflow!

Theres my opinion on all the reusables that i have personally used!

Will definitely use cloth on my own kids as and when i have them!

Motherease - the Fairy baby nappies. Never leak, and go from newborn (about 4 weeks we started) through to potty tranining now.

These are the main ones we've used:

totsbots - my favourites for non-walking baby. Nippa rather than velcro as babies quickly figure out how to rip velcro open

imse vimse organic - lovely & soft, slimmer fitting BUT no fastening (wrap holds in place) so not as good on older, wriggly babies

popolino - brilliant popper fastenings which adapt to size of child. Not as absorbent as totsbots tho'

bearbehinds stuffables - look fantastic, easy to use for babysitters etc because you can stuff them in advance. Ours eventually succumbed to velcro fatigue - get the ones with poppers!

Nature baby denim stuffables - too 'low-rise' at the back - you can imagine the potential consequences...fine if you can be reasonably sure it's just going to get wet!

size 3 totsbots - nightmare. Children this size can run away! Duh. Very secure/absorbent WHEN you've caught & subdued your toddler.

happy heiny training pants - brilliant, quick & easy to put on, come in cool range of designs. Quite bulky

Rainbow Tots - v. reliable and cute but quite bulky.

Tots Bamboozles - fantastic, v. reliable, v. absorbent, great for day and night. Take a long time to dry though. Aplix better than Nippa.

Kissaluvs - Not as soft or absorbent as bamboozles but still good and reliable.

Happy Heinys - gorgeous show-off nappy, can leak if on for too long (>3hrs) but love them anyway!

Fuzzi Bunz - not keen, often leak.

Bumgenius - reliable, absorbent, easy to use, v. quick to dry. Not the prettiest nappy ever.

Swaddlebees pockets - awful - always leak.

Motherease Sandys - reliable and slim-fitting but can go a bit hard after several washes.

Imse Vimse cotton organic - bit fiddly as no fastenings but quite good.

Wee Notions - cute, reliable but I find them fiddly to do up. One of my least favourite.

Lovebums - good as a night nappy, bulky for day. Not my favourite.

You can get a really good catalogue with pros and cons from Twinkle on the web if she wants to see what the nappies look like.
Would also advise applying some criterea to narrow down her choice - for instance I use ones that I am given for free, ones made in the UK etc.
Happy shopping.
