Does this sound like a good combination of reusables?

Baby due in just under 3 months. We've been given some newborn disposables so will be using those to begin with then moving onto cloth. To start us off, I was thinking:

10 x little lambs size 1 - for day and night.
5 x smartipants pocket nappies - for day only.

What do you think? Is this enough with regular washing or should I buy a few cheapies (yellow bloom?) or preloved as back up? I want to mostly buy new, good quality nappies so I can reuse them for future dcs.

I would love bumgenius freetimes but they're so expensive and smartipants seem like a cheaper option, just not as absorbent. I thought I could use a bamboo booster with them to get round that problem?

I'm slowly going mad trying to weigh up the pros and cons of every nappy so would love it if someone could give me their honest opinion, please. I basically want something slim-fitting and reliable for day and 2nd type that's inexpensive and absorbent for night.

What type of Little Lambs have you got trinpy? (is Microfibre/bamboo/cotton). The Microfibre are very quick-drying (a few hours on an airer), but not as absorbent as the cotton or bamboo. The cotton take about a day to dry on an airer, and I've heard that the bamboo take ages.
We got:
Little Lambs Microfibre x 10
Bumgenius Freetime x 10
Little Lambs cotton x 4 (for at night)
Motherease Riki wraps x 4 (to go over the Little Lambs).
Bambinex paper liners
At the start I was washing every day, so am not sure if the quantity you've got will be enough. Now DD is a bit older 5 months, I do a wash every couple of days.
I don't know much about the Smartipants, but would really recommend Little Lambs and Bumgenius Freetime. I would say the Little Lambs with a wrap over the top are more 'bomb-proof' than the Bumgenius. The Grandparents seem to prefer the Bumgenius as it's more like a disposable (eg no faffing around with covers).

Thanks for replying! Very helpful to know what you bought. Looks like I will need loads quite a few more...

I wanted to get the bamboo little lambs because they are the most absorbent and the least bulky, but maybe I should get a few microfibre ones too. How long did little lambs size 1 last for your dc? On their website it says 8-10 mnths but I've read a few reviews from people who's babies have grown out of them by 4 months! That's the only thing putting me off buying more of them.

DD still wearing the size 1 and she's now 5 months. Think we may have to go up to size 2 in the next month or two as she is quite long.
We used disposables for the first few weeks as, although the reusables fitted, they looked so big on her.
Would also recommend reusable wipes - we have cheeky wipes, but you could probably make your own.

Little Lambs have a good sale on their FB page today only.

You're getting 2 bamboo nappies for £9 and 2 wraps for £8, might be with getting for trying out as super cheap.

We use Bumbles at night with a Motherease Airflow or fleece wrap and during the day we use a mix of sized pockets and Freetimes.

I did have a full stash of Freetimes but Birth to potty isn't the best fit on my daughter so I got rid of most them and kept a few for ease of use.

Thanks for the tip about little lambs peanut, I'll have a look at their fb now.

That's reassuring to know that size 1 are still fitting at 5 months, Ditsy. I might have a look into getting reusable wipes.

It's really helpful to know what everyone else used that worked well with their younger babies.
