Nappies at night

I think the reason DS won't resettle in the night might be something to do with his nappy being so wet (once I change him he seems to settle better, but am still testing this theory! )

Anyone else's DC like this?

He hasn't leaked, but is v v wet and probably cold?

What nappy would you recommend? We're using a size up in Aldis own brand for extra absorbancy but currently trying Pampers. .

TIA!

Pampers.
I go between active fit or baby dry, whatever is on offer , never had leaks or wetness...
Maybe if you're going a size up its too loose causing wetness ???

IndecisivePramBuyer81 · 06/01/2014 14:57

Hmm possibly? Could try that too. When I've looked online ppl suggest a bigger size but as with everything else it's probably trial and error!

  • sorry - stupid phoe!

Aldi nappies didn't work out for us. We were chaning her two or three ties more than pampers!

Want to try active fit or baby dry next - not sure which. When we come back from holiday we'll be switching to terry towels - god give me strength I'm not looking forward to that!

BikeRunSki · 06/01/2014 16:27

Bambo pricey but worth it. I have been using them for 5 years at night (cloth during the day) on one or both dc.

mumofboyo · 06/01/2014 16:27

We use the purple pampers and they can last up to 15 hrs overnight (for us, anyway) whereas the shops' own brands, and the reusables when we used them, have always let us down.

IndecisivePramBuyer81 · 06/01/2014 17:49

Are the purple ones the Active Fit ones? I think we'll stick to the store bought nappies before the ones online!

Does this sound like it could be a reason to disrupt his sleep? I don't want to get into the habit of nappy changing in the night if I don't need to!

I use pampers baby dry and always out a layer of sudacrem on her too. Since doing this we have had lots of sleep from her, no nappy rash and no leaks (sometimes the branded stuff is def worth it!)

Gerty1002 · 06/01/2014 18:42

Pampers baby dry and a good layer of bepanthem as a barrier against wetness - DS has never had nappy rash, even when going 12 hours at night or with explosive diarrhoea.

clairikins · 06/01/2014 19:01

Bamboo nappies all the way. Never had a leak

mumofboyo · 06/01/2014 19:52

Yea the purple ones are the active fit ones. They sometimes have them on offer in home bargains: a pack of 60 odd for 8 quid.
They were 2 packs of 35ish for £15 from Sainsbury's the other day too.
And I agree with pp who say put a barrier cream on overnight; it really does seem to help prevent my dc getting nappy rash.

Eletheomel · 06/01/2014 20:12

I use sainsbury's little eco nappies - I don't change DS at night (he's 7 months) and he regularly goes 14 hours without a leak in them (or nappyrash. Diff nappies suit diff babies though, pampers and huggies always leaked with DS1, but have tried pampers with DS2 and they worked fine - you might need a bit of trial and error.

(I love your optimism of hoping a change of nappy brand will result in more sleep :-D keeping my fingers crossed for you)

Shutupanddrive · 06/01/2014 20:32

Hi I used asda own brand in the day and pampers for night time, saves a few pennies

IndecisivePramBuyer81 · 07/01/2014 11:28

Yeah I'm desperately straw clutching Grin

Had exactly the same issue once she got a bit bigger and more wriggly - we use cheapo ones during the day and pampers for night with a good layer of cream. we get a lot less night waking from nappies now!

MB34 · 07/01/2014 20:06

When DS was smaller and still feeding a lot at night, I used a bamboo cloth night time booster in a pampers nappy.

Now he's older and only feeding once a night I use Lidl's own brand.

MoreLifeInATrampsVest · 07/01/2014 23:32

Second vote for the Tesco ones recommended by Miaow, 14mo dc is a huge wetter at night and they have never let us down. I use the pull ups (red packet) for daytime as it saves the lying down for every change battle, they're really good too.

IndecisivePramBuyer81 · 08/01/2014 12:38

It's a shame no one can do anything about night time pooing! Sad
