I feel as if I am hurrying all the time. Today, even dd said "Mum, you hurry all the time. You ahould slow down". Out of the mouth of babes....

Anyone feel the same? Anyone got any tips - other than the obvious? It certainly creates an underlying tension to most things we do....

Yep, thought that was a quick response! Wasn't trying to alarm anyone!

I'm exactly the same Earlybird. I'm trying to change, but tend to rush at the day and then collapse after lunch. However, we're all different, and at least I'm not late for things (unless I have dh with me! He's always late!)

I think I run around like a headless chicken most of the time

I guess the sensible tips are to plan ahead and to get ready early - ie pack bags the night before, know where your car keys are in advance etc etc and then save some time to ask the kids to get ready cause they always take longer than expected. Be clear and precise with them. "We are going now, do you have your hat/tennis raquet/sandwiches . . . whatever?"

Sounds so simple. Wish I could do it!

NQSTM - I do most of those plan ahead things you suggest. I think my problem is that I try to fit too much in. It's the "I can finish this post on Mumsnet before it's time for breakfast" or "I can make that call before we have to leave" or "I can do some gardening, shower and still be on time for the appointment" etc. I need to learn to let some things wait instead of squeezing too many things into too little time.

Sounds like you are way ahead of me! I have a huge list of phone calls etc to do - but everyone is in bed by the time I get around to making them. Thank goodness for email, that's all I can say!
