When you feel you do everything & beyond for your small children, yet when daddy comes in from work or is about he's hero and mummy is perceived to be the dragon. Sad

Resulting in me snapping at dp, kids and hating myself.

Yep, my 14 mo dd has just learnt to kiss.(more of a slurp really) As long as it's Daddy.

I know that feeling. Count to ten, and tell yourself they don't really mean it, I'm sure they worship mummy too. Hugs

Yes! Drives me mad! On the plus side, I am genuinely happy that DH (who works long hours) has developed such a strong bond with our DC.

Oh yes. Coupled with the fact that DH turns into The Underminer or Captain Cave-In & reverses some of my decisions on occasion does not help.

yep! nothing like small children to make you feel unimportant!

Abra1d · 30/12/2013 18:39

Yup. Mine are nearly 17 and 15 now and I am still the one who does most of the insisting on good table manners and general politeness and who complains about swearing and lack of respect. Husband doesn't like conflict, but who does? He likes to have a 'nice atmosphere' around the table. Interestingly, my daughter was picked up on a few things during Christmas by members of the extended family. I told her to bear this in mind next time she complains about me telling her off for something or other--would she rather have me do it in the privacy of our own home, or an uncle or aunt do it in front of everyone?

3am after bf for the 3rd time since 10pm, my 11 month old pulls off the breast and calls for daddddaaa into the night.

Sigh.

Have to say that it brings a wee lump to my throat to see them so close and so in love with each other. It's utter utter adoration on both parts.
Awwww.

Happydaze77 · 30/12/2013 19:56

So much for breastfeeding preventing fathers from bonding with their babies eh? Hmm

MissVic101 · 31/12/2013 01:01

my girl is only tony (12 weeks) but I was saying to my oh tonight that I feel they have more fun together. dont get me wrong I know she gets lots of comfort from me and I get plenty of smiles but he is more easily silly with her and gets loads of little chuckles. I love watching them togetherGrin

It is lovely to see the bond but very frustrating when you've had a long day with two smalls who run and cling to daddy when he gets in as if I torture them. And don't want to know me.

Yet it's me who cleans, feeds, tends to their every need and plays in the day especially.……yet as soon as I say oh no let's not do that or no you can't eat rubbish before dinner. I'm then the worst mum on the planet
