My daughter is 15months but not yet walking.... She's very close though but hates walking with me holding her hands, she always screams to get down again and continues crawling.... Anyone have any tips that will help me help her?

I don't know but my 14 month old is still a total jelly legs. She's s tip toer aswel so her balance is useless. My son walked at 11 months so it's strange to have 1 no-where near.
My advice is don't push it. All good things come to those who wait x

I wouldn't force it, just let her do it at her own pace, give her opportunities to pull herself up on furniture (chairs etc) and one day she will just take off. I had a very early walker (9 months) and friends children of the same age who didn't walk until 18 months, you can't tell who walked first now they are both running around at 22 months.

Mine didn't walk till late. Don't fret, leave them to it.

I second the 'leave them to it' approach. Don't worry she'll be driving you mad getting into everything soon enough.

Has she got a walker? My boy started walking with a trolley to push along. That said it was at 22 months so I am a fan of leaving it till they're ready!

Hey there, my DS was exactly the same age as your DD when I knew he was about to walk but nothing would finally push him. Until I took him to a soft play area and he went in holding my hand then let go and walked for the next hour. I was gobsmacked as I honestly thought it was never going to happen. Whether he felt safer or what, who knows, but it's worth a try with your DD.

They learn by themselves, you shouldn't try and hold them up, I learned this from here -www.janetlansbury.com/2011/03/9-reasons-not-to-walk-babies/

Just relax and let it happen in its own time!

She'll do it in her own time, and she's certainly still within the normal range. DD was 18 months.

TreaterAnita · 29/12/2013 00:51

Really, really, really don't worry and don't force it. She'll do it in her own good time. My son didn't walk independently properly till 19 months (21 months if you don't correct for prematurity) and you couldn't tell it now. Stop worrying and her enjoy her. We're all saying the same thing for a reason.
