Any disposables that don't smell of chemicals?

We use cloth during the day and a disposable overnight. I usually use Aldi which smell of chemicals. Have also used Pampers and they smell too, but I have just got some Tesco ones and they smell so bad I think I'm going to return them! We co sleep and the smell is almost intolerable, I feel so sorry for DD lying in that.

Are there any disposables that don't smell so bad? Otherwise I think I'm going to have to find a cloth nappy for night time.

Nature babycare

If you are using cloth during the day you might as well go for them at night, as you are doing the washes anyway. I took the same attitude with wipes

I agree that cloth overnight is the way to go! We use a pocket nappy with a super booster (from the nappy lady).

Another vote for Nature baby care (aka Naty). They've worked really well so far for dd from birth to 18 months.

Thanks everyone. I'm not sure a cloth one would last overnight as at 8 months DD still feeds every 2 hours through the night. And I don't want to have to change her if I can help it. Time for an experiment I think!

what nappies are you using? I use a bamboo nappy at night. It can last for 14 hourswithout leaking. Allot of women use two different types one for day and one for night

We use Bumgenius. I've put DD in one tonight with three inserts in (usually use two during the day) so I'll see how it goes. Its a relief not to be under a cloud of fumes! What are the bamboo ones called?

Definitely Naty. They're biodegradable, for a start.

I've got an all night feeding 7 monther and we're using cloth at night. My favourite are Huggles with an extra booster and Motherease wrap. No leaks so far and she still feels dry in the morning.

We've recently changed from pampers to sainsbury's. Very happy with chemical-free ness!

wonderstuff · 20/12/2013 23:07

ASDA used to do an Eco nappy, not sure if they still do but that was good, and nature, any of the ones that are Eco-friendly are less smelly.

Can you get Seventh Generation disposables in the UK?

clairikins · 21/12/2013 23:11

I use Bumgenius during the day. I like them but wouldn't dream of using them at night. I use a 3 part bamboo system Bambinex. Although little lamb bamboo and tots bots bamboozles are similar. I have never had a leak and my daughter is a heavy wetter.

StarsAbove · 22/12/2013 09:49

Tried the Bumgenius on two nights now and they leaked both times. Thanks for the recommendations, I'll have a look. I suppose it does seem a bit daft not using cloth at night. I had some Little Lambs when DD was newborn but didn't get on with using a wrap, but once a day would be doable I'm sure.

Yeah it's a bit of a faff using them all the time (especially when you're out). But ok just for the night

rednellie · 22/12/2013 14:22

Moltex are the least smelly eco disposables. Buy I only ever use them when we camp. All mine have been cloth diapered throughout...

BranchingOut · 22/12/2013 15:18

We didn't go down the cloth at night route after 11m, but carried on using BG during the day. However, if I had used a cloth nappy at night I think it would have been a bamboo nappy with something like Disana wool pants or fleece pants, as this combination was always being recommended.

didireallysaythat · 22/12/2013 15:27

Spiritofnature.co.UK will send you samples of all the nappies they sell so you can try. We buy boxes of moltex from them.
