... get over the stage where you couldn't put her down? Because ds is like that and I need HOPE!

Do you have a sling, Emkana?

I know SD used (uses?) one - and I've found it great with DS2 too.

harpsichordcarrier · 19/07/2006 22:23

OR earplugs
jokejoke

emkana · 19/07/2006 22:24

I do have a sling, and use it a lot, but there are moments when I find it difficult to do things with ds in the sling and then I try and put him down and hey presto... he cries.

Sorry, didn't mean to make it sound like it was the answer to all your prayers - DS2 has just been left to cry sometimes because I've been up to my eyes in a mucky DS1 nappy (it's the glamour that gets to me with this mothering malarkey...!) - his particular time for crying is in the car though Can't wait till he can go in a forward facing car seat.

emkana · 19/07/2006 22:46

'tis okay hunker
I just wish there was a magic solution...

Earplugs, as Harpsi says

Sorry, wish there was too. SO hard to hear them cry and wish you had a clone-type thing who could go and pick them up (or better still, could stay and change the mucky nappy while you go and pick up the new baby with their lovely smell and everything

How is he? They change SO fast - seems like seconds ago DS2 was a little newborn!

emkana · 19/07/2006 22:56

He's okay, battling with a cold unfortunately, kindly give to him by dd2.

Going to see the consultant next Monday - I SO want to know what diagnosis they will come up with in the end, but I know I will have to be patient.

He should be over it v quickly - hope he is.

The waiting to know must be so hard, Emkana - I wish you didn't have all this worry

emkana - I couldn't put DD down at all for 6 weeks until I took her to a cranial osteopath, and that sorted out her headache (which we think was the problem) overnight, so might be worth a go.

Um... I think it might be best we pretend I haven't seen this thread...

emkana · 20/07/2006 10:24

ah
How old is she now?

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 20/07/2006 10:28

5.5 months.

She will sleep upstairs on my bed if I feed her to sleep there and then sneak out. She's there now .
She will lie outside inthe shade cooing to the clouds and leaves if I'm within 3 feet of her at all times. Sometimes I manage to run off and do a chore or something.
She will sometimes play happily on her mat for, er, 15 minutes max. Or (whispers) watch cbeebies for a while.
But she likes company and being held. Which is a real b
gger in this heat.

  • And then she wakes up screaming. And her current Cry Of Choice is that high pitched squeaky one that says "I'm ill! I hurt! I'm miserable! Come and get me NOW you evil mother!" Sigh.

She's better than she was. I think. Sorry!

SoupDragon · 20/07/2006 20:20

Last night I transferred her from my bed to the cot which is right next to it. She whinged and figetted and whinged some more so I stuck my hand in through the bars, she grasped my finger and instantly went to sleep. Bless her.

emkana · 20/07/2006 20:21

aaaaaah, that's very sweet

I do love it when ds is feeding and clings on to bits of my top...

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 20/07/2006 20:23

Yes Sometimes BabyDragon wraps her hand up in my top. I think it's to make sure I don't sneak off when she's finished and fallen asleep

It's nice to be wanted so much I guess but it is very wearing, especially when I'm trying to do something.
