Just a place here to talk about our little ones.

6-18 months ish, but no specifics here.

I have an 8 month old daughter and she is doing great. She's nearly cutting her second tooth so naturally a bit grizzly at the moment but otherwise she is doing incredibly well.

How is everyone else's LOs?

If you want to exchange advice/thoughts/tips/concerns then feel free to post it here. :)

I hope some of my fellow April '13ers decide to come on this thread.
Thanks

Thanks Amanda ! I'll give those a go .. Much less daunting for me anyway :) . BLW looks interesting too I'll look up some recipes !

This age is so nice , just doing so much new stuff all the time!

RodneyTheChristmasElf · 19/12/2013 15:20

My dog thinks BLW is the best thing ever invented. He lives under the highchair these days.

GimmeDaBoobehz · 19/12/2013 17:47

Oh yes partners dog loves mealtimes Rodney.

Amanda I'm sure you're doing brilliantly! Fun before one was also my mantra! I would BF him about an hour before each meal and then just let him play and do what he liked with it. It's only really been in the last couple of months that he's started chowing down, and subsequently taking less milk. For a while, between start of weaning at six months and 12 months of age, he increased milk intake. He's a week away from 14 months now.

It's very easy to worry but try not to. I just offered him everything I ate and continued to EBF, and he sorta just regulated himself in the end.

ZebraZeebra · 19/12/2013 19:28

Sorry - I didn't mean to imply you were worrying. Just I did, a lot...the only thing I stuck to was offering milk first so I knew he had sustenance. He mostly guided me Smile

StillaChocoholic · 21/12/2013 21:42

DS has another tooth coming through and is crawling! Kind off. It's more like dragging but he's getting to where he wants to go, quite often the Christmas tree. Up until a week ago he refused to touch the Christmas tree! What a difference a couple of days make.

stowsettler · 21/12/2013 22:05

Oh, my mutts love mealtimes too! We started with BLW but kind of morphed into normal weaning but with no puree. I don't have the time or patience for pure BlW so now we feed breakfast with a spoon, a decent lunch, never pureed, and then a light tea of bread fingers with cheese or something. Yoghurt or fruit for dessert. DD still loves her milk though so doesn't eat as much as some.
Congrats choc! Every day brings something new, eh?!

RodneyTheChristmasElf · 21/12/2013 22:48

I made the mistake of letting DS try the tiniest bit of chocolate this evening. Big, big mistake. He's been bouncing off the walls ever since. I've never seen anything like it before. It's like that scene in George Of The Jungle when he eats a jar of coffee. Bad mummy :(

tinkertaylor1 · 21/12/2013 22:55

Hi all

DD2 is 9m. No teeth as yet but lots of dribble. She was doing great with weening but the last few days is really turning her nose up. Im notr sure if its because im offering food all the time and she is just constantly snacking.

But ive just read up thread that others LO are refusing a spoon??? Maybe something there...

DeathMetalMum · 22/12/2013 07:08

tinkertaylor It might be the teething that is putting her off the food? We are still just offering food at our mealtimes.

We still just have backwards movements along the floor which = a very frustrated dd.

Novia · 22/12/2013 07:22

Hello everyone! We have an 8 month DD who is a joy. Like many others on this thread, she's pretty mobile - but only backwards!

She's always been a brilliant eater, but the last week has pretty much refused food which is a bit annoying. She's also had the most horrendous, clothes-destroying nappies for the last few days. I think it might be teething as she's not got any yet! And nappies are probably partly due to her being on a mainly milk diet again. Its a bit annoying though as I've been trying to reduce the BFing (we were down to just morning and night and sometimes one if she wakes at night), but lack of solids have meant we've had to regress.

It's also a shame as we were beginning to get the occasional night when she slept though and I think she's waking up because she's hungry again now. Usually only 1 wake though.

Anyone else experienced anything like this?

LamaDrama · 22/12/2013 17:16

DD keeps laying on her front at nappy change time, she thinks its hilarious Grin

So I tried it (as I knew it was an explosive one) pulled vest down over shoulders as well and it was actually so much easier to clean her bottom, with her that way, then a quick turn over to clean front.

There is always this though - change mat with harness!

I'm an April 13'er!

Dd is 8 and a half months

She can roll sit and wiggle but no crawling. She is a fantastic eater. No need to mash anything for her and she accepts most foods

Bakerof3pudsxx · 22/12/2013 17:21

Oh and she has 0 teeth!

schnockles · 22/12/2013 17:24

Also an April '13er Grin

DS is 8.5 months. Crawling and pulling himself up on furniture. A liability and obsessed with chasing our cat. Eats most foods and has been known to have meltdowns at the sight of a spoon! Mainly letting him feed himself nowadays :)

Oh and no teeth!

Bakerof3pudsxx · 22/12/2013 17:25

Glad it's not just my dd who is toothless!

Loveitall · 22/12/2013 18:01

I'm a January 13er, just (last day of jan) so ds is about to hit 11 months in a week. We have been so so lucky as he has slept through since about 6 months. He is just starting to take his first steps which I don't like, he is too little to be toddling! Nappy time...is always fun as he just doesn't like lying still! Feeding time he is on three meals a day. Generally weetabix for breakfast, toast/savoury pancake/savoury muffin for lunch and some sort of meal in the evenings.....when late home from work it is generally a pouch of food (hippos usually) but I try as much to give him homemade food. Oh and 6 teeth, but I am thinking that the dreaded teeth grinding has returned today so no 7 not far away!

AmandaCooper · 22/12/2013 20:22

Well I tried giving DS a bowl of food and a spoon - now I remember why I don't usually do that! Spoon in the food; big scoop of food; then bang spoon vigorously on high chair tray; food splatters everywhere - all over me, DH, the table, the floor, our own plates, DS, the door. Then in go the hands; a bit of squelching around in the food; then straight in the eyes; give it a good old rub in the eyes. A bit in the hair for good measure. Then scream till I pick him up covered in food.

schnockles · 23/12/2013 20:49

Today we had a meltdown at lunchtime. I'd made him a veggie omelette and DS refused to pick it up to eat it and freaked out. So I thought, bugger this I've got loads to do, and tried using my fork (we were sharing the it) to give him some and he ate it happily. Gotta love those curveballs!

LamaDrama · 23/12/2013 20:53

Meltdown today also, because I wanted my purse back Grin a real scream!

StillaChocoholic · 05/01/2014 17:40

Help, I have a climber!!
Since he started crawling he's also started pulling himself up on everything. He does it on the tv stand, the sofa and yesterday he injured himself because he was leaning on some of DH's equipment and hit his head on it.
He's currently trying to climb up his dad and is shouting at him, quite funny to watch.

Tinkertaylor1 · 05/01/2014 17:47

Hi all!

death still no Peggie's! Tbh she really isn't a breakfast eater ( I don't think) although I'm following the sleep whispers and giving dd a 12am bottle , which has been seeing her through.

Honestly if any one else tries to offer me advice on getting my dd to sleep all the way through , I may start head butting.

Fil asked if I'd seen some one professional about it? Confused

Dd had a scream because I took a sausage out f her Kung foo grip. She was NOT impressed.

baker I keep thinking I see white under her gum. But I don't .

Happy Sunday all!

Tinkertaylor1 · 05/01/2014 17:48

LamaDrama · 05/01/2014 19:39

My DD started crawling this week, bit of a shock seeing the place wrecked in front of my eyes!
