Phil&Ted Sport - potential dangers?

Hi there, I'm considering buying a Phil&Ted sport double (2nd hand) but I've heard of a couple of things that really bothered me. One is that the child in the back seat can touch the wheels and obviously when the buggy is in motion that would seriously hurt / burn. The second is that if the toddler is in the front seat and the younger child in the back, then when the toddler gets out the buggy falls backwards and the baby's head can hit the ground. I'd be having my toddler in and out of the front seat all the time so that would be a big issue for me.
This buggy has generally really good reviews so I'm wondering if these two issues are urban myths or if other users have experienced them?
thanks

Touching the wheels is possible, but you can also get mid guards which help with this.

I had my ilder chd ( 3 initially, all the way up to 6!) in the front always, and my younger one on the back/underneath (from 6 months up to 3ish).

Never had it fall over, and never heard of one doing this. My older child wa very large for her age, and younger one tiny as well, so had a huge weight/size difference, and I cannot see how it would happen at all.

I have one and it has been great. You do have to be careful about it tipping back, but not a major problem. When your baby is small and lying flat this isn't an issue, it's only when you swap to have the second seat on the back. Also, if you use the coccoon with your little one as a baby (it's great, like a holdall for your baby - I got it free but would definitely recommend) then you can just lift them out.
When my youngest got to sitting up age, I swapped them round and had my toddler in the bottom so she could jump in and out while the baby was in the top. Meant the baby could stay asleep in the buggy when we got home and my oldest could get out just fine. It never tipped like this, but can be a little awkward up the kerb and might not fit a big toddler in the bottom though (my DD is 3 and a half and just about fits in, she's quite small for her age). Just make sure the one in the bottom gets out first. My oldest DD try touching the wheels once but they do have mudguards on the top so it's not that easy. I told her no and it's never been a problem.
I would say that if you store the buggy up and with both seats on you need to be careful of them climbing on it. I normally take the bottom seat off when I park it in the kitchen, but left it on one day recently and my youngest climbed in the bottom seat and tipped it. She is 18 months now and it's the first time it's happened.
I'd recommend it, has been my favourite baby related purchase.

I sold on my second hand Sport after a few weeks. The break was so stiff as to be unusable and since I live in a hilly area became pretty dangerous when I was scared to put it on in case I couldn't take it off. I'm not sure how old it was but it has certainly been around the block a few times.

I replaced it with a new Dot I intend to sell on when I've finished with it. P&T seem to have fixed all the things I found difficult about the sport - it's shorter, a bit lighter, the hoods are actually functional and the break a piece of p (but inaccessible to the child in the bottom). I've just started using the second seat on the bottom as DS2 is just big enough at six months so I don't know how great it would be with two toddlers (ie it's shorter so there might big be enough room). It still is an unwieldy fold and it's annoying that it doesn't stand up folded but think that's a general P&T thing.

Sorry to the person who bought the old sport! Though you do live somewhere much flatter!

As others have said both the issues you note are manageable. If you're still not sure look for a P&Ts Verve - they don't tip.

The mudguards will solve the first problem. I used to have the original with no mudguards and DS insisted on holding the rear wheels. It was filthy and disgusting, but there was never any hint of friction burns.
