I have just started this thread in nurseries (hoping to get some input from people who work in nurseries), but if you have any opinions, please post.

thanks

dd nursery insist on three consecutive sessions in dry pull ups with no accidents, then they can wear real pants.

It was my ds's nursery who told me to send him in big boy pants as they thought he was ready! (I would have wimped it a bit longer). I hadn't started potty training at all before then.
I would expect a nursery to carry on with what you are doing at home - they are very good at routines and things so shouldn't be aproblem.

My ds was almost trained in April when he started his new nursery. They told me to send him in pants, with a change of clothes in a bag. I encouraged him to ask his teacher if he wanted a wee and yes, there were accidents. However, nurseries have lots of changes of clothes to cope with these accidents. He only had a few in the end and is now completely dry during the day (unless he is playing and leaves it too late!!)

I'm starting potty-training tomorrow (wish me luck!). Ds goes to nursery one morning a week (today, Tuesday) and I asked them about it when I picked him up today. They were quite happy to give it a go without nappies from next week, by which time we'll have had 6 days of practising at home.... They said I could bring in his own potty, if I thought it would help, or he could use one of theirs (there are already 2 or 3 toddlers in his group in the beginning stages, so lots of stopping and potty time going on anyway). They also suggested 2 changes of clothes for the morning, so obviously not expecting it to be hugely succesful straight away. HTH

Not at all! I sent DSs in on day 2 of training. Nursery were't fazed at all, they knew DSs were ready and I just had to send them in with lots of spare clothes.

I'd expect most nurseries to pick up where you've left off tbh. My ds goes to nusery 2 mornings a week. I've recently trained him (started at 2y 5m). He went to nursery on about day 4 or so of training. i sent in 2 spare sets of clothes. he had an accident that first day, 1 on the second + has been fine since. It's a bit harder at nursery where they don't have the 1 to 1 hovering that you do at home ! On the other hand the peer pressure of seeing their little friwnds using loo or potty can be a plus.
