ok so going for our first night out of disposables. DD2 is in a minki huggle with a hemp stuffin just in case. stuck a pull on wool wrap on top. have never seen a child with a bum so big! she looks like a telly tubby, ive propped up the end of her mattress cos im woried the blood will run to her head!
is this the case or do babys not mind having their bottoms elevated above there heads?
and does anyone have any suggestions for good night time nappies?

I found this with my first night in cloth 3 nights ago! The danger of overstuffing is that you can prevent the nappy absorbing as quickly due to compression.

i decided when like yours my ds was pointing downhill off his bum to reduce the amount of stuffing/boosting thinking that the worst that would happen would be that he would be soaked in the morning, or he would wake up wet and need to be changed during the night. From a small nappy you can always add to it another itme!!! I think
Hope this makes sense!!!

i would also worry that he is not flat on his back and therefore his muscles may be compromised.

I use a lollipop stuffable stuffed with a folded terry although there are now some very slim microfibres available for boosting/stuffing which give high absorbancy without the bulk I am going to give Bamboozles a try on the recommendation of others.

thing is though the hemps really slim so thats not whats making her bum point up in the air. its the huggle wool combo. speaking of the wool wrap its not the nicest looking thing ive ever seen - does any one know of any pretty ones?

1 st night went really well, didnt really need the extra hemp booster. She slept for 8 hours straight which she has never done whilst wearing disposables and the huggle wasnt soaked this morning like i thought it would be

I love woollywraps - but they are pricey... but when you think that two airflows would come to about £16 and need changing each night, whereas one £18 woollywrap can be worn for a week or more...

I started with wool overstuffing, then gradually reducing the amount each night so he now looks much less weeble like

You could try a couche cover from Puddlepants. We have a tie die one which is really nice and at £12 it cost less than the woolywrap (she says, trying to justify it).

Not sure but we've never had a leak with ours at all, not even when it was new and had only one application of lanolin.

we use bamboozles as they are not bulky at all but are uber-absorbent

we tried a few before we concluded they are the best

We use couche wraps during the day - only had wetness come through once, but that was just because it needed re-lanolising.

We also use bamboozles at night with a woollywrap - not too bulky and very reliable.
