winding positions

My ds always liked to be winded across my lap lent on my arm, now I put him on my shoulder but he is getting to big for this. What's the next position? He needs winding a lot and is 7kgs. I'm a short arse!

(he is 3 months good head control and pretty strong but not able to sit up or hold onto me yet.)

I used to let refluxy DTs hold onto me round the neck, hug them tight, stand up and bend down slowly so theywere tipped back to 90 degrees, worked every time.

I used to sit DD on my knee, facing to the side, with my hand supporting her upper chest (and chin too when she was very tiny). She was tilted forward, from the waist, iyswim. Then rub and pat her back. Always had more luck with that position than over shoulder. I think the key is to have them in a position where there's gentle pressure on their tummy and you can rub their back at same time.

I used to do a very similar thing to CityDweller -dd was sat upright on my lap or on the bed and I would either gently rub her back or circle her body gently.
