I am my usual organised self and it's my DS's 3rd birthday party tomorrow. My oldest DS has been allowed to invite one of his friends too and she is allergic to eggs and Dairy. Her mum has said she'll bring a pack up but I don't want her to be left out and have to be separate from the other kids. Does anyone have any top tips on bits I can quickly buy from Tesco in the morning? We're doing hot dogs in buns.....is there a risk of allergy from those? party sausages? we're also doing the mandatory silver platters filled with party bits. I checked the ingredients on party rings and they have whey and wheat in.........I'm fully aware I may come across as a little bit dumb but I have no idea what would be a risk to her and I'd hate for her to have a reaction because of my stupidity!

If she's allergic to dairy she can't have whey as it's a milk product. You'll have to be super stringent in checking labels, and know what to look for. My DS is highly allergic & I always provide food unless I'm 100% confident in the person in charge of food.

Some cocktail sausages are ok, some aren't. Some ham has milk in it. I really don't think this will be a quick pop into tesco for you unless the mum can tell you of specific brands she knows are safe. Even some crisps have milk in them!

crisps??? :O I think I'll buy a load of bits that I think are safe foods and keep the packets and ingredients so mum can check them before food time arrives. I've done some little flags on toothpicks with a heart on so mum can stick them on the foods she can eat.
Fruit kebabs are an easy definite lol

A lot of crisps have bloody milk powder in then - walkers are the worst!

I think it's a lovely idea to just save the packets and ask the mum to check everything.
