Sleepsuit with hood?

DP had a mooch around the Mothercare sale today and bought some really lovely stuff. One of the things was a toweling type suit with a hood. DP says it was by the sleepsuits etc but I'm a bit wary of DD sleeping in something with a hood. There's just something about it that doesn't seem 100% safe to me? She's 6 months and is sleeping in her own cot. She's at an age where blankets etc would be acceptable but I just can't get over the nagging feeling that she could suffocate herself on it.

Am entirely prepared to be told I'm being unreasonable and PFB. ;)

I wouldn't risk it but am also PFB and risk averse. But I see no benefits to a hood in bed so why take the chance?

If nothing else it will cost you peace of mind if you use it.

Yanbu having baby's head covered could cause them to overheat because most heat escapes from head. I would say what your DH bought was a daytime playsuit more comfy for rolling around in then a dress or trousers. It might say on label not for sleeping in. HTH

YANBU. I wouldn't and don't like my two having hooded jumpers etc. coats are fine.

DS had one that said on the label not to sleep in I just used it for running around in the morning instead of a housecoat

No, definitely not.

We had a lovely one from white company but I used to use it over her baby gro for during the day or if we went out in the evenings after her bath. She never slept in it.

No!

Not safe for sleep in my opinion, risk of over heating and a risk the loose material of the hood could get tangled up and pull at her neck.
