I have just been made a wool/fleece convert. I love the wool the most I think - mainly because it needs washing only every week/10 days (unless there is poo), and lanolising once a month or so.

I tend to do fleece for daytime more, and wool for night, but only because my wool wrap is a bit big round the legs and if he wears it with trousers it will leak. I've just got some wool shorties, so will be doing those more during the summer.

I have 2 bumsnugglers fleece wraps which are great, have just ordered a wacky wrap, and now have 3 versions of woollywraps (wrap, longies and shorties).

Couche wraps from puddlepants are great wool ones for daytime - very slim.

Wool! Definitely, I sold most of my fleece wraps after trying wool, I thought it would be such a faff , I mean HAND WASHING but it's dead easy and they don't smell so bad in the morning (the fleece used to smell rather rabbit hutch like).

Both work a treat tho and if DS is showing any signs of rash during the day (even if his bum is slightly pinker than normal) I pop him straight into a wool or fleece wrap for a few hours til it's cooled him down abit, we've even had day trips out in a well lanolised wool wrap.

Wool wool wool wool wool!

I really like mine (couche cover and a disana pull on).

They aren't as much work as I first thought either. I particularly like the fact that the disana is a pull on as ds2 has just learnt how to undo velcro!

I don't even handwash - just very gentle wool cycle in the machine.

Hmm. Haven't tried fleece. I have a Popolini wool wrap which I like (keeps ds dry at night, looks cute).
But I'm not convinced about the "no-washing" thing with wool. I mean, you do have to wash them - either by hand or in a separate washing machine cycle. And ds poos past his totsbots fairly regularly so the wrap definitely needs a wash. And it does smell very rabbitty in the morning. Whereas a fleece wrap - you've just got to fling it in the nappy bin and it goes in the wash with the nappies? Which seems less effort to me.

Also the leg cuffs of the wool wrap have stained an unattractive yellow colour. Fleece doesn't stain...

Cuddlebabes does a moneyback guarantee on wool wraps, even after you've used it, if you don't like it.

I have heard that fleece can feel quite damp to the touch, is this the same with wool?

DS doesn't poo very often, so not much of an issue here. They do smell musty in the morning, but if you hang them to air for the day they are fine by the end of the day.

Very rarely do they feel damp to me - they hold some % of wetness in the wool, unlike fleece that it just evaporates out of iyswim?

Thank you all. I will definitely be trying these. I may even go the whole hog and try knitting a wool one!!!
