Oh this is *so* TMI - but want to ask about the contents of ds's nappies (11m)

Just wondering if this sounds normal or not really... hope you aren't eating

He is bf twice a day, has cow's milk to drink with one or two meals and has a drink of cow's milk in the afternoon. No formula. Eats a varied diet (all home-made if that makes a difference) - basically eats what we do.

But his nappies are awful - he poos on average twice a day, and it is not really solid, it smears all over the liner (washables), it is horrendous to get off, really sticky! And the smell ...

Am I just being a wimp (obviously I have to "deal" with it a lot more because I have to get it all off the liners (and frequently the nappies and wraps too), or does it sound unusual to be quite so - um sticky and gloopy?

Feel free to back away now....

Probably normal - I took my s DSs (almost 3 and 18 months) to docs because of this and he tested samples which were fine and told me it was 'toddler diahorrea' which is pretty common when young kids are getting used to a full diet and can last until 3 or 4. You could go to GP if you are concerned.

Sounds very normal to me. Ds was like this for ages (still not exactly the sort of poo you could lift up in a liner and flush away). I think the vile smile is probably the cow's milk or if you eat meat, that stinks as well. In fact it all stinks, let's face it

But if you are concerned I would cut out cow's milk for a week or two and see if you notice a change (give soya milk or breastfeed more to make up for the cow's milk). Dairy produce is a very common allergen and can cause horrific poos and smells in sufferers.

"vile smile" ?

LOL

"vile smell"

Nappy contents the same here [bleugh!]

I can probably count on one hand the number of solid poos ds2 (2.4) has produced in his entire life.

I spoke to HV about it during dd's 8 month check and she said the same as schneebly's dr.

Bit of a bitch for toilet training though!

Thanks guys, that's what I suspected
