Has anyone actually got children as beautifully behaved and polite as the ones in The Railway Children?

How did they manage it?

Did children really used to be like that?

I want some.

LOL at Mog. When I was a singleton and saw harrassed mums of babies and toddlers during my lunch hour I always thought MY children will never .... Now I AM that harrassed Mother

Another agreement with Mog! I sooo thought my kids would be like that. Actually, my eldest son is sort of perfect but my other two ....... love them as I do, they are wilfull, naughty, dreadful fibbers, very lively and great fun, if more than a little exasperating

mines definately a more interesting child. That is the way I prefer to look at it.

And pre-ds I was sure that 'my child will never do anything like that' when I saw other people's kids and HTT and similar.

Now whose child has got eating problems? Karma I'm sure it must be.

I think they just edited out the scenes where Bobbie and the gang were round the back of the railway station shooting up... And they were just a little too quick to whip off their red knickers and wave them at the train driver, don't you think? Clearly years of experience

The Phyllis one used to be on Robins nest etc as the dumb blonde.

I have 3 of my kids on video playing a Christmas carol on piano, flute and violin aged 7, 10 and 13.

Was a one-off though!

Love ilovecaboose's "interesting" comment.

We (just dp and me) were at a wedding just over a week ago, and there was a little two-year-old on the bride's side who behaved angelically during the service (not so later on ... ).

Just after the service, a lady was asking about our son (also two) back home with Nana, and we said we chose not to bring him because we didn't feel we could expect him to sit quietly through a church service, and that he was probably happier watering Nana's plants (a lot). I said he was quite a spirited, exuberant (love that word) little boy. She said, oh, that's a nice way of saying ADHD.

So anyone out there with a toddler who wouldn't sit through a lengthy religious service, your little one has ADHD ... what?! Bl**dy ridiculous.
