Get rid of a load of stuff - I assume they've got loads of toys etc? Don't replace it unless necessary.

How old are they? Depending upon their ages there are different things you could try. Eg if toddler age then obviously don't leave things like lap tops in their reach. Don't leave unattended for more than a few seconds etc!

If older kids then you can set up reward systems for respecting property or simply not allowing them to use things they can not be trusted not to trash.

just re-read my post and i sound p*ed!!

deep breaths lol, they're old enough to know better, older one being 7, then 5 and youngest 2.6 who is the naughty one.

that'll teach me for changing bed spreads and leaving laptop on the sofa,

Not sure - 2.6 is young. Still at that impulsive age. 5 is on the cusp. I think you should go easy on them!

difficultpickle · 01/11/2013 23:34

It is annoying but personally the only one of the three that should know better is your 7 yr old and even then he may not really appreciate how easy it is to damage a laptop.

iWantChampagneOnColaBudget · 02/11/2013 00:32

7 year old is impulsive and 5 year old has alot more laid back lazy personality but i suppose i expect them to know to look after things which gets me frustrated

its the youngest little madam who took the keys off when a few months ago she poured water on the tv and our previous laptop, broke the webcam with a month of bringing it home

well, a plateful of choc ice cream later, i have well and truly calmed down, especially when she saw next doors cat sitting on the fence and started calling out 'spider!'

Ah see I'd never leave a laptop near the 2 year old. Sorry to say it but your expectations are far too high Grin
