Ok, I get that this is the hardest (til the next 'hardest')..

He is 15 months. I get the discrepancy between language, understanding, processing etc...

But...

WHAT DO I DO?!!! Especially during/ after a tantrum? These can be SCREAMING and last 45 min- stubborn!!

Hopeful thanks!

This too shall pass I found 14-16 months the hardest, DS was grumpy and went through his first wave of fussy eating. It was really hard and to be honest when they're this young I think you have to 'ride it out'. You need a packed daily schedule - go out morning and afternoon, even if it's just for a walk. Sorry I can't be more useful - DS is 19 mo now and a delight so it does get better.

Distract, distract, distract!

Oh look there's a big bus/lorry/nee nah/helicopter...

Oh come and help mummy search for socks in the washing machine/make a drink/butter toast...

Oh i think its time for a snack/walk/leaf finding expedition....

Reasoning at this age is pointless. Getting angry is always pointless (though difficult to avoid!). Distraction is the only way to survive. That and ensuring they don't get overtired, they don't get hungry, and they do get enough outdoor exercise.

It will pass. And then the terrible 2's start!

Through everything you can into teaching them to talk too. The ability to communicate effectively is when it starts to get easier IME.
