Hi all,

DS turned 1 a couple days back :) and we tried some cows milk which he completely refused. So I was wondering if I can introduce it gradually by mixing with his regular formula milk ??

TIA :)

I think alot of people have done this, and gradually upped the amount of milk.

I was advised to do it by gradually increasing the proportion of cows milk to formula, until change over was complete. It worked very well but it was 11 years ago so don't know if advice has changed.

Yep, we did this with one of the DC, can't remember which one though.

Yes, I've done this for 3 big babies hooked on the flavour of SMA gold! First taste some undiluted so you can taste test each time, then you can adjust quantities. I think I started cow's milk 1/3 for a bit then closer to half, then when you taste again and it is practically cow's milk, you can ditch the formula!

I also, initially, warmed the milk more to give a cosy sort of feel, sort of swapping taste for warmth...they all fell for it. After a few months just provide cow's milk at room temp..

It is what I am doing right now for DS who turns 1 tomorrow. Has worked well. He has straight cows milk in the morning and will in the evening by tomorrow. I also warm it a little bit.
