'Early' baby...same timings for growth spurts etc?

I was wondering...people talk about the 6 week growth spurt, wonder weeks etc, but does this apply the same whenever the baby was born? For example, DS was born at 37 weeks, which is still classed as full term, but will he have his six week growth spurt when he's actually six weeks or when he would have been be six weeks if he'd been born at the full 40 weeks? Does that even make any sense...? I'm clearly a bit sleep deprived...

He'll have his growth spurts when it suits him. :-) Babies don't read books and forums so they make up their own rules as they go along.

Hope you get some sleep :-)

My baby was also just over 3 weeks early and to be honest so far her whole life has been a growth spurt :o she's now three weeks old x

On the wonder weeks website it says it is based on the baby's due date not birth date.
But I agree with the above posters, based on my experience babies don't follow books.

Not really sure to be honest, ds was four weeks early, he seemed to have been destined to be tall and grew and grew from 4-6 weeks and fed lots, when it came to weaning advice was mixed some people said start early some said when it he was 6 months, we tried at six months, he was having none if it, and started stealing things from my plate with gusto around 7 months.
He def hadn't had a chance to read the books but perhaps that was because he was early?
Don't worry too much, I found that I spent 80% of my time trying to figure out what I was missing then things went smoothly for a bit then I was back to guessing what he wanted!

Lol, thanks everyone Smile Am sure he'll totally do his own thing no matter what, but was just curious...think what I'm really wondering is, when everyone says it gets easier at 12 weeks, will it actually be 12 weeks! Wink Gives me something to aim for even if it is bollocks!
